And it looks nicely chunky and non-streamlined as befits a lower tech faction like Haqq
Azra'il are also meant to have intentionally chosen an older, bulkier type of armour for its intimidation factor.
I mostly like it. The ankle situation is a bit off for me but it's not a killer.
Not sure what to do with the old one now, I hadn't painted it yet, and it won't even be close to the size of this guy.

That's pretty sweet, may have to put him on the list!
Also, Miniature Market, has some kind of March Madness sale going on for a bit (didn't see how long) with several Infinity minis pretty deeply discounted. Not quite 50%, maybe 40%? Didn't see anything I desperately needed but there were maybe 20-30 on offer.

Well damn. Guess I need to make a QK list that incorporates the Azra'il now. He's really damn impressive. I'm glad that they enclosed his helmet this time around, too.
I saw Miniature Market has the Panzerfaust Azra'il on sale for their March Madness thing. Too bad he's now useless since his profile was removed.
I hate reading about MM sales for Infinity. Back when €:$ was 1,5 or so you could still save a bit even with paying the massive shipping costs (got lots of 9$ Dust squads) with the right deal, but certainly not anymore :/
Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

I really like that model. He may be making his way into my lists in future; his profile is slightly weird, having an X-visor for a gun with already good rangebands, but I guess it makes him a menace at virtually all ranges.

Well X-visor is not attached to a weapon, but works in all abilities and range bands, I guess discover would see the main benefit, or the pistol in its extreme range, I guess for some reason.

Was there much complaint on the official forums about the loss of the lobster and its kin? If there was I'm sure they will listen and release an updated army list for the Exrah at some point.

That's a very good idea, thanks!

Cinematic John Woo-style kill at the end of the game?

That was happening right when I started visiting the forum and it could get...heated, at times. Not pretty.
The chance to get the Exrah back with the current miniatures seems to be tiny despite the outcry. Sharp bits ruined the molds fast, the minis didn't sell that well, potentially tge designers didn't like them anymore? Stuff like that.

I'd love to see the lineart for this. I'm curious if they're going to give him a unique HMG design. Seems like the standard one would be too small. I hope they give him a belt fed minigun.
He's too big.
I'd like to see a side-by-side of Geckos, Ajax & the Azra'il.
How do they explain what's supposed to be a regular sized human fitting into that massive suit? At least Geckos are proportioned like TAGs and have regular sized human hanging out of them & Ajax is essentially a super robot. Yan Huo are a similar case, but at least they just made them up instead of hijacking a previously iconic infinity unit.
That said, strictly as a model itself, it's great. But it doesn't make sense in the fluff or the alleged scale of the game.
I guess you would need to see a super-imposed outline of where the human form would be in all of that, although I agree you can't imagine the human inside's elbow and knee joints corresponding with those in the suit. Perhaps there is some other arrangement (perhaps arms and legs just extend to the elbows/knees, and the pilot uses a control mechanism?)
As for the background, the new mini fits much better than the old one going on the official description
The Azra'il normally carry out aggressive patrols, seeking deliberate and provocative contact with the enemy. The choice of an older model of heavy armour is an intended and premeditated decision. Not only because it is a link with each individual Azra'il's past- a reminder of their fall into disgrace- but also because it is more bulky, and thus more threatening, in appearance.

That's a pretty ridiculous scale creep JUMP - wow!
