Whats going on with the torso's on both?

I'll have to see Drakios from another angle before I make up my mind, I think. Scylla otoh hmmm, not doing it for me personally.

There are times when I have to remind myself I share this hobby with teen-aged boys (of all ages).

Scylla is one of the better models to come out since Ice Storm. All the recent CG stuff has been soulless.

Not going to adress the book issue a single more time, but allow me to ask what you'd rather have them do?
Removing the Exrah was a design choice as well as an economic one. Sales numbers were low and the standard of the minis wasn't up to par.
I agree that it's annoying to buy minis seeing them replaced by nicer ones (worst case mid-way painting them), but how could that be prevented? Individual half a year headsup to everyone who bought the miniature?

Drakios is the best out of the group and I can't complain except for his tight pants and bulging crotch. Alas, Savonarola will love them.
Scylla's glasses at least in these pictures aren't very convincing and by personal preference I very much dislike the nonsensic cheesecake pose.
Same remotes I already have... yay.

Wow in just surprise so many poeple have not been using Link Team, ALEPH, or Tohaa the last half a year becouse of the invalidate books. Oh my... just oh my. From the art-work I thought this would be a day one buy. I think this is the first time in over a year that CB has really missed this badly. Drakois is kind of ok but he is nothing special. As for Scylla oh man.... I loved her art work as she looked like a smart and strong (hacker) female and I really like that. The actual model just makes her look like hipster teen girl with a non-flattering cheesecake pose. Also (now I am not sure if I have missed it before) but what is up with those flesh-tone hexes? I mean I get they are the ALEPH but usually its the suits or pants that have the hexes. The hexes on Scylla make it look like she has some weird skin disease/ infection. I hope her profile isn't that awesome as I really don't want to have to use that model. Anyone already thinking of proxies?

Many Aleph models tend to have felshtone hexes. They're essentially where the Nanopulser is stored on the character. The hand/arm disassembles and goes pewpew.

I really, really hope some new angles rescue these models. I like Drakios' shoulder armor, and Scylla's pose is (hopefully) better from another angle...

...except for that head. Why oh why did they go with the glasses? They're almost impossible to do right at this scale, especially if you're going for the "sexy librarian" look. I'd be lopping off that head and replacing it with something else. It's a shame, too; I like everything about the face, except the glasses.

Ok fair enough, the Deva does look pretty awesome. Maybe it is just the paint job on her but the hexes on her arms look far worse. I know know its possible that they stand out to me more as her entire model seems riddled with problems (not the quality- she is still an amazing model but the pose, glasses, sword, all of it is just so... off).

The guy is not bad it looks like they were going for a "just finishing using control pad when a enemy enters, so he is turning to engage" his head even tracks that way. The girl looks like they were trying for the same but it ended up looking like she is to weak to hold her sword up and access her VR net at the same time. My question is why is the guy the only one bring supplies.

I prefer the miniature of her to him. No idea on earth how I would paint those eyes within the specs (I think I would probably chicken out, cover them with green stuff and paint them as aviators). But yeah, it's a very Manga-ish pose and style to the whole thing.

Not completely my thing, but I'm glad the sculptors are allowed to do more off the wall sculpts some times.

To be fair, if you were getting Aleph to make you a new body for your cube, there would be no reason at all not to have an enormous package fitted at the same time

Not sure what to make of Scylla. A hacker dance pose? The face is very well done though. CB actually made the glasses work well on this one -- unlike the Ghazi or Angus or...

Yeah who sculpted those aleph, i like the 50's styling with the big glasses and the cute flower in her hair, but yes her pose is awkward, and the guys junk

Are these older sculpts they had lying around?

CB ramping up for a Schlongs of Aleph the new expansion.

CB also seems to be ramping up the upper torsos of all the men. Teucer and Drakios both seem to have Ajax-caliber shoulders. Teucer's concept dossier looked so much more tame.

Those shoulders (and other body parts) would make even Achilles blush.

Watching the video, this is what caught my attention:


The ground looks unusually flat and the terrain looks unusually featureless compared to the other Aleph views we've gotten. Is that a new playmat? Are those new "box" buildings?
Perhaps there is a new paper terrain set coming soon...

...or a new starter...?

Personally I think the Scylla pose can be saved by chopping off her sword hand and swapping it with another hacker hand.. so that it looks like she's working two consoles at once, typing on a keyboard with her (new) hand and doing her hacking thing with the other.

That said.. such a pose with an open hand would suddenly make a LOT more sense if you position Scylla so that she's in base to base contact with Drakios and facing him..

This makes zero sense to me.. The modelling standard for Icestorm box and the newer sectorial releases have been (IMO) very high and thoroughly impressive. This one, however, is just... Well, I think the concept and the idea was better on paper, than the actual results. I have no clue as to what else it could be and really, the poses and the leg-proportions on the robot is just waaay off. Perhaps they had a great concept art, with a background that made more sense for them to have those poses? Who knows...

The devabot hasn't changed though. It's exactly the same as always. I like the bot, but that's a matter of taste of course.

Yep, the Devabot is the best miniature in that set.

Excellent idea, that would easily fix it for me. If she'd be surrounded by invisible holographic interfaces, she wouldn't have to make too much sense in the normal plane of existence.
