I don't get why the Seraph doesn't have AD. It's got wings and big thrusters on its back! I suppose that is like asking why Irmandhinos don't have aquatic terrain.

Still not a fan of the new Tikbalang. I liked the heavier armored look of the old one more.

Same reason why the Geckos, which are said to operate in combined squadrons akin to Link Teams, can't Link: game balance.

I don't even know what a 'Tikibalang'... but I want one because it sounds so cool.

Thanks for sharing, Kanluwen!

Maybe just the designer didn't like the concept. Either way, I need to see its new rules before I'll consider adding it.

I think the correct response there is "kill it with fire!"

I do think the Tikbalang is the coolest name of any unit in Infinity though

It strikes me as being rather refreshing. There are a bunch of mythology referenced scattered throughout the game, but many of them are outside of the usual cliches. No "vampires," but plenty of uncommon ones like the Tikbalang. The Shas have a few others as well. Even in ALEPH, the Greek references go deeper than the most popular names.

Yeah I like that too. There's lots of references in Infinity, and they aren't always really obvious.

And they're less Euro-centric, which is certainly a nice change of pace.

With all of the SF miniatures and games coming out and already on the market, is there any company making 3D 28mm spaceships? I'm not talking about just corridors, but where a player could have access to an entire ship. Such as living ,medical, engine rooms, command centers, etc. It seems to me there would be a large market for this.

You could use a lot of the new Antenocitis Workshop stuff as space ship rooms, in conjunction with all the currently available corridors.

There are a few who make parts of it. Spartan Games makes a range of resin furniture and appliances that would fit those various purposes. Nobody that I know of makes actual spaceship structure, beyond corridors and such.

A shame. I see a market for them. I know I would be a customer.

Yeah, I think even battle systems stuff is just the floors, walls, gantries, and furniture. It's waa'aaay more economical to make the inside and leave even the exterior walls off.

How handy are you with foam? I've been wanting to make a ship exterior to fill with custom/battle systems card terrain and I was figuring stacked and shaved/trimmed/shaped insulation foam was gonna be the way forward.

My problem is time. I don't have much of it.

I like to paint miniatures but can't seem to find the time to paint.. That's why I would love to find a company who manufactures ready made ships or ready made ship rooms that connect.

I don't think there's anything out on the market right now that will fit that bill.
I've never seen a ready made Space faring ship for 28mm that includes the exterior, other than small drop ship landers and such.

You could take many of the corridor kits from various makers and accessorize them with stuff from Antenocities, Spartan Scenics or others, to replicate a ship layout.

Hell, I would think that in 28mm, you would have an entire table fit inside one of the space faring ships in the infinity universe.

It might be a cool idea for a manufacturer to design a ship as an experiment, but actually making one would probably be hella expensive.

I would think KS would be the place to fund something like this.

We're probably gonna get bonked over the head for off-topic here but I'll post this:
http://www.battlesystems.co.uk/gallery.html
Spoiler:

Battle systems does everything but the exterior walls. Technically they do have bunker walls but having a set myself I dunno if I'd recommend them for the cost. They really made the equivalent add-on in the fantasy set a lot better.

If you think about it for a minute. You don't *really* want or need exterior walls anyway. Because if they're in place, you couldn't really play inside without constantly removing the bits of wall in your way.

Bit more on topic, I do like all of the folklore in Infinity. Aswangs, Gwailos, etc etc. Fun to google the names of Shasvastii units and figure out what they were named after.

Some friends and I had an idea for something like this, like others have pointed out above there isn't really anything as you describe on the market.

What we were planning on doing was to use the Battle Systems sets as GrimDork has pictured above covering half of the table, then have a 'hull wall' halfway along the table. On the outside of the dividing wall you have the outside of the hull of the ship. Thought it would be really cool for having trooper assault style missions.

Never played Infinity, and I'm not much of a RPGer, but those minis are looking great. maybe I missed it, but will there by a minis-only pledge? or options to just select your own add on minis separately or anything like that?

Yes, there will be.

Also, probably best to continue the INFINITY RPG Kickstarter talk over in the thread dedicated to it:

Seraph no longer a Stingray TAG, will be better, more expensive, keeps Auxbot, and release is imminent.

The biggest question for me from this isn't what 'better' means, nor how much more expensive it will be, but what in CB's opinion 'imminent' means. It's a subjective term, and to them it could this month, or this quarter. To me I'd rather it meant ...*checks watch*... in five minutes.

The galaxy is littered with the single-planet graveyards of civilisations which made the economically sensible decision not to explore space.

In the case of the Seraph, we are told that 'imminent' means by the end of the year. So, if all goes according to plan, you should have a Seraph in your hands by the end of January next year ( if it is a December release) at the latest.

Other rumor: Toni Macayana is going away :( and the Uhlan and Tikbalang will share a box -- you get the pieces to make either or.

Shame about Macayana. OTOH finally having models for more than half of our TAGs would more than make up for that.

Tony was one of those weird characters that just did it better for a negligible points increase. Like the Kum twin with the light shotgun. She's a point more than a light shotgun Kum with better BS and CC. There's no reason to actually run a light shotgun Kum other than her, unless you want to run two.

I'd prefer it if these sorts of characters went away entirely.

Heard it before and I wasn't surprised in the slightest.
