Squatting with the squigs

hate to bring up the death world, but there is only one spider that scares me , the funnel web spider.
it has a recognised attack posture and can leap a meter...also thankfully it is native to my neck of the woods. A good reason not to garden

it is the only aussie wildlife i wouldn't consider killing.
top of that list atm is:
bandicoots:

and bush turkeys:

those two bastards make gardening an effort, if they ever come off the endangered list I'll be waiting for them with a spade.

Where did you hide his body? (your rommate, not the innocent spider).

Funny story. This was the roommate that I got into a huge fight with. So I take the spider, put it in the girls only hall and watch the hilarity insue. He got found out by the RA and got his housing terminated for bringing in a dangerous animal to the dorm

No, you don't.

You have someone who actually has experience housing "creepy crawlies". The reason I get annoyed at this kind of sensationalist nonsense is because it's the very same thing that's helping things like sharks and the like to quick extinction. Fear mongering over harmless animals is something I loathe.

I do believe putting a goliath spider in your bed qualifies you for the Texas "he needed killin your honor" defense...

For some reason, I think these huge spiders are less scary than smaller ones. It is probably because these big ones will have a hard time sneaking up on you

This.

Stupid people go into environments that they are not accustomed to and then have the audacity to blame the animals when they are injured.

Australia recently killing two great whites because some donkey-cave got his arms bitten off? That's what happens when you swim in the same waters as a super-predator that sees you having the same silhouette as its prey.

These animals are fascinating. I wouldn't want to get up close to one, but thankfully it's quite easy to avoid them.
