So Exrah are being squated like yesterdays... eh, Squat. Or are they? We don't really know for sure. Nevertheless we're ready to jump the gun and say farewell to them with some kind of unofficial painting contest, or vow, or something. Okay, so we haven't really thought it through. Suggestions on a postcard.
Whether you like the Exrah or not, when someone leaves the party then the polite thing to do is to say goodbye. So why don't we all grab a brush and give them a spirited Dakka send off? After all, they might, maybe not come back.
So raise your hand, and start waving it, if you want to help us say goodbye.
Casey, Alpharius and bantha_beast.
No jokes. We are 'reasonably serious'.

i should probably crack open the book and look this one up, but is the Anathematic an Exrah???
i would love an excuse to paint one of those amazing sculpts...
I can see this bombing like sales of Exrah miniatures. We could leave it a while then try and make a new thread with a different layout but I kept breaking my keyboard trying to post this one and replacing laptops is expensive. It might be an idea at this stage to just to lock the thread to remove it from public domain. I mean, obviously it'll annoy people but it's the best thing to do.

thanks, Alph...
don't worry, you will definitely see a version of this mini from me, eventually...
think, the Deceptacons in the freeway chase scene in Transformers 3(?) for the look i would like to achieve...
Unfortunately, at the moment, I do not have any Exrah (mostly due to there being cheaper CA models I was after). However, since things are looking grim for the capitalist bugs, I think I ought to get one and join in. The Exrah wouldn't wantany other way.

Absolutely!
I'm painting a Caskuda and posting pics of the progress...right here in this thread, and nowhere else on Dakka Dakka!
Maybe we should ask CB for some prize support of some of the existing models? Its not like anyone is going to buy them now anyway!

Could maybe try cross-posting on the official forums/ datasphere to drum up a bit more interest? But, yeah now the thread is open i think just post stuff up paint log style.

You probably missed the joke because it wasn't funny. -1 internets to me also.
So if we are gona do this the first question is: How seriously are we going to take it? Please pick one and vote if you want to get involved.
1. Competition style with prizes.
2. Casual pledge to paint something and post it.
3. Reasonably...
Okay so I'm hearing competition but on the casual end of the scale. Public voting instead of judges would be best for that. In terms of competition we should have a hard and fast entry received date but we could place it quite far off to keep it casual. Why don't we end this mid December with a week for voting so that the winner is announced on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Or do we want something done and dusted sooner?
I'm not too worried about all of the security type hoop jumping we do for official Dakka contests. I say we all just post our WIP pictures as we go. Keep it relaxed and fun but reasonably serious.
Shae, if you can provide some sort of prize or prizes that would be awesome. I'll leave that ball entirely in your court, just post up whenever you figure it out.
Well i'd be screwed if there was any of the normal paint comp hoop jumping as i've already started most of the family group! Here are my vector and void operators already painted. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/30/493203.page (towards the bottom of the page). I will get some new pics taken of my Iskaller and Vector hacker that were WIP before i losy my mojo on them, but now its back! Thanks CB for deleting races from the game so i can finish painting them!
