Good to see you gave AoS a go. I have yet to manage it myself. I am interested what will happen in time as players begin to figure out ways of balancing it for their own tastes.
Looking forward to seeing some more of your painting progress.

That is a pretty cool ogre scheme! I guess you probably don't need a crazy amount of ogres in that game (don't know much about it but it seems vaguely skirmishy).

You certainly like alternative color schemes. Red goblins, blue ogres Got any other ideas that are fresh and uncommon?

Thanks guys!
Grimdork, I've been playing with about 14 models that break down to about 65 wounds, and 4 warscrolls.
Archer, I love bright colors but I think this is all the off the wall color schemes I have in my head... for now...

How have you been finding AoS? Any issues with balance or other unforeseen issues?
How have you been going in your games? Getting a few wins under the Ogres gut plates?

Archer, I've enjoyed the games I've played so far. It has only been 2 though. I've lost one and the second one we ran out of time before we finished so we called it a draw.
The one that I lost felt pretty balanced. I played against Lizardmen (or whatever they're called now) and we were pretty close in the number of wounds. The dice were very much on his side that day but it was a great game. The ogres hit very hard, it's super fun to smash them into combat.
The game I played this week, I was teamed up with a skaven player and we were playing against Daemons. I think the daemons had more wounds than we did and had multiple casters and could keep adding units. It was a pretty rough battle. I would have liked to have time to finish it but we are still pretty new and slow. I'm looking forward to playing again.

Thraxas - Blogre! They are quite smashy in battle. And having 4 wounds a piece is pretty sick. If I happen to lose a model in combat and then fail battleshock though, it is brutal because you lose whole models not just wounds.

4 wounds each?! Ouch. Gonna soak up a lot a lot of damage there.
Do Ogors (new GW name for them lol) have anything that buffs their Bravery stat at all? Or make them immune to Battle Shock?

The tyrant has a command ability that you can deal a unit d3 mortal wounds and then they don't take battleshock for as long as the tyrant is alive. It's pretty good.

I really like where you have gone with the skin tone on your Ogres. Is he metal or Finecast? I had the metal ogre characters when they were first released and they are some heavy blighters.
So the question is...how much gore do you plan to put on him?

Thraxas - He is the old metal one. He is one heavy ! I'm going to splatter him up some but I'm probably not going to do too much more work on him. This model really creeps me out for some reason.
Warboss_W - Thanks!
I played another game with them today against a different set of Lizardmen and just smashed through them. That combined with him rolling miserably for battleshock and it was just a beating.
I still feel like I need to play a million more games to really get all the nuances right, but that's ok!

Congrats on the win. I have yet to get my ogres onto the tabletop unfortunately, my gaming group isn't huge on the medieval side of things. Some day.
You have done a great job on the apron. Looks like real cloth. I personally have never warmed to the aesthetics of the butchers, both in background and appearance. Do you run him as a Butcher or Slaughter Master? Do they still have them?

I like the game. I think it's worth checking out. Especially if you already have mini's to play with. I haven't bought any new stuff for it. We have a pretty chill group that plays. If I were playing with people who were trying to break the game, I wouldn't like it as much.

I have lost my painting mojo.
I just can't face it for some reason.
After a several months of couples therapy, my wife has decided that she wants to call it quits.
I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.
I've been hanging out at the shop as much as possible playing all sorts of games to distract myself.
I'm sure I will get back to painting sooner rather than later.
I'm still around and watching all of your progress, hopefully you guys will help me get my painting mojo back.
If anyone can do it, Dakka can.
