Hallmark literally makes like 27 full-length Christmas movies a year. And then they play them with all the other bad ones 24 hours a day from Now until Valentines day.
Of all the terrible ones, I would actually watch this over, 'Santas daughter saves christmas' or 'mean eprson gets turned into a ghost and saves christmas' or the most unbelievable 'Lonely woman in her late 30s, finds love at christmas'.
They probably shot this entire movie in a week. Good for them, I will totally watch it and I bet it will be hilarious and awful.

It's a "cute" made-for-tv holiday movie making some money of a successful Internet meme that combines cynical grumpiness that adults can enjoy and a cat that kids will love to make another movie that they can insert into the "lighthearted holiday movie" rotation with all the other "let's take whatever fad is in this year and turn it into a movie" productions.
It makes as much sense as complaining about Lifetime making another movie where the man is a jerk or another woman is a psycho killer.

She is still just thinking in the movie, the girl can just read her thoughts which is totally different from talking .
Is it any worse than any number of other talking animal movies? Probably not. I have seen a lot of talking animal movies, it is a pretty popular sub-genre.

I will watch it, and I will be playing a drinking game that will probably kill me while doing so, but it will be entertaining to say the least.
Can't be as cringeworthy as the movie where the dog brings the widowed mom and dad together on christmas and then it just randomly ends right after they're starting to make headway.
The main question is why didn't they let Gilbert Gottfried do it?

I actually enjoyed it quite a bit and had some good laughs. It didn't pretend to be any kind of serious movie, it made fun of the movie itself, it made fun of the cat, it made fun of Lifetime, it really made fun of everyone. It was an over-the-top snarky self referential movie.
The two best lines might have been the plan of how the pet store was going to raise a lot of money ("we are going to take this cat, turn it into memes, tour the talk shows and conventions, and make a movie based on her being grumpy!" and the reply of "that's stupid, it will never work"), and then the mother asking the daughter "they didn't do 'anything' to you did they" and the cat replying "that's a different kind of Lifetime Movie".
It's a fun enjoyable cheesy made-for-TV family Christmas movie and you get exactly what you expect out of it.
