It helps a fair bit to have another flanker on your team, if you're by yourself you'll get focused down the instant you start plying your trade, but another flanker can draw some of the heat off you.

It does help a fair amount, but most of the time, expect your team to not pick two flanking DPS characters; Since most comps with pubs should balance between 2 Tanks, 2 Offence and 2 Supports, most teams will prefer it if only one of the Offence players goes flanking (if at all) while the other stays with the rest of the team.
Of course, the beauty of Overwatch is all the possible winning combinations you can use with its diverse roster.

It was more good timing than aim, I blinked up to him and stuck him a split second before he leapt. Pharah was just amusing collateral damage

Bastion on Attack actually requires effort through positioning and moving up with your team, so I respect players a lot more for picking him on Attack rather than on Defence.
D.VA's Ult is perfect for such targets, as well as most of the Defence heroes - most of them don't have a way of running away fast enough or shielding themselves from the explosion.

Oh I can agree on that, but most Attack Bastion players are lazy and just sit on the payload and move with it.

That's true, but at the level I'm usually matched at, you see that kind of basic tactic a lot less - it just doesn't work against even lower level players who know the roster well.
I actually might buy a metal D.VA artwork for my room if I get another overtime wage. Considering I have a whole folder of good D.VA fanart I've picked up, I'm hardly stuck for choice
I still have the almost NSFW Halloween D.VA artwork as my desktop wallpaper. Pretty sure I'll need therapy if my D.VA fanboying intensifies any further than it has already
I just love D.va. Everyone else (except for Tracer really) is so serious about fighting, and D.va is just over here shouting "LEARN TO PLAY NOOB!"

Just a shame that console players now have to wait even flipping longer since they're doing PTR rather than, y'know, having tested it themselves prior...

PTR's just another level of self-test. Blizzard's only got so many playtesters, whereas with the PTR they can get thousands to try her out, in all sorts of configurations. It's Parallel processing as opposed to Serial processing.
GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

PTR's not really another level of self-test, it's more of a hypemachine for them. It's been like that for WoW for god knows how long.
Realistically, the issues with a game like Overwatch are far far less in need of a PTR than anything else. Plus their excuses about "We can't do PTR on consoles" are bunk.
Additionally, have you actually played Overwatch? So many things get through the PTR because quite simply they don't get reported by the wannabe "eSports" players that it is bananas.
