In the distant, desolate parts of Tarsis Ultra slumbered a force like no other. Originally a Necron Tombworld, the planet carried within the Getrekt dynasty, lead by Overlord Ru´Casul the Eclipse. The tomb, protected by frost, and the wast glaciers on the planets surface allowed the dynasty to awaken completely unscathed and operational. The Heraclitus Virus deployed on the planet by the Iron Warriors ensured no living being could ever disturb it. The Getrekt played a defining part during the War In Heaven, battling in the absolute vanguard of the Necrons. Ru´Casul is a god of war, with millenia of combat experience and his martial prowess eclipses that of most other lords. He is agile for a Necron, equipped with the finest body and weaponry possible, his technique honed to perfection aeons ago. All combat situations are as autonomous to him as breathing is to the living. The Getrekt dynasty is completely focused on warfare without pause, and they lack any interest in politics or meddling with other Necron nobles. Their leader earned his rank by strength and martial discipline alone, and this is reflected on the entire dynasty. Having most parts of his mind intact, Ru´Casul continues to do eternal battle as he did before his slumber, reveling in all aspects of conflict.

Bearing the Deathshead mask, granted only to individuals who´ve slain a thousand enemy commanders in single combat, Ru´Casul always enters the battle alone. Should the enemy outnumber him over hundred to one, the rest of the army is phased in simultaneously, blotting out the sky. Hence the title of Eclipse. Ru´Casuls appearance is ghostly and unnerwing to any foe, as the Necron Lord steadily approaches on foot or aboard his command barge, unflinching, his dual warblades at the ready. Many have heard the tale of how the battle commences, and the thought of an entire army appearing on his side at a seconds notice doesn´t make his entry any more comforting.

Decided to tweak my previous theme and started my army anew, going with a winter & ice theme. Hope you enjoy. The miniature is dipped, with blending added. Also put some snow on his shoulders and parts of the armour, to further the immersion of winter. He is magnetized and can be attached to his Catacomb Command Barge, which will be up next. This miniature took me about 4 hours.

Love the painting and the fluff had me laughing my butt off as well, the naming conventions are top notch

Thank you fellas.

Yeah, I figured instead of a space pharaoh wielding a stick, I wanted something a bit more badass and dynamic. The mini was kitbashed from the Necron Lord and Lychguard bits.

I find cheesy and humorous fluff is fun to make up for your army, I love what the actual writers of fluff do with orks for example. Stay tuned for more epic names.

Hah, just read the fluff, and the idea of him walking out alone and then deciding if he's going to bother with an army today is just brilliant!

Guardsman: "Sir, the Necrons have arrived."
Sarge: "How many?"
Guardsman: "Er, one, sir. No, ten. No, fifty. No... HOLY FETH!"

I love the pose and the dual weapons, I agree, necron lords dont do justice to badass combat monsters with the normal big sticks

Could you possibly explain more about your painting process? you say he took 4 hours? That seems incredibly quick considering how lovely his paint job looks

I too am a big fan of fluff related mini's, I play and model orks, so I often either create their fluff in my head as I model or i think of the fluff idea then model. The more outrageous the better

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.

Thanks. In all simplicity, I gave the model a Wolf Grey basecoat ( Army Painter spray. The dip breaks it down a notch as I use a brown dip, which is nice so it isn´t too bright. ) Then I painted the metallic parts with Boltgun, and the mask with Ulthuan Grey. After this the miniature was dipped, and left to dry. Then I proceeded to blend the warblades and paint some brighter Ulthuan Grey on the mask and to create the base. Added some matt varnish and it was done. Very simple and fast yet effective.

Very simple and very effective Hmm i think il have to have a look into a dip, as I aquired a large force of necrons recently all unpainted, unbased, simply glued together. I plan to merge them into my orks and have already started converting them. If i dont go with a rust theme I might try a dip

Awesome paint job. Awesome fluff. Really like the ice and snow mixed with the undead look of Necrons. Can't wait to see more!

Awesome scheme and by far the best dynasty name.

Thank you gentlemen, appreciate it.

The Catacomb Command Barge is nearing completion. I´m suffering from a loss of painting speed as just last week before painting the lord I took all my Necrons ( 1750 points ) and removed all paint, reassembled them all and then gave the whole army a new basecoat. But now it´s done and they´re as good as new. Doing that just sucked the life out of me ( but that´s good when you´re Necron ) as the project took me a whole week, basically every evening after work.

This is a relative thing though, as the CCB only took me around 5 hours and it´s almost done.

My son... the day you were bio-transferred the very forests of Lordaer... Tarsis Ultra whispered your name. Ru´Casul often enters the battlefield aboard his Catacomb Command Barge, Midorafk. It also transports his shield, altough it has not seen much use through the millenia. In fact, the only time it has been "used" in combat was when it was thrown off the barge due to evasive maneuvers during a breakneck speed charge towards an enemy firebase, falling ontop of an unsuspecting Guardsman and crushing him underneath.

The lord is magnetized on the barge. Added some snow here and there, some rainlines and wear to bring out the ancient nature of the machine.

Cool paintjob, and I like the use of the shield as a front plate.

I quite like this color scheme, it gives the Necron a very nice "cold" appearance. Definitely one of my new favorites.
