I agreed to a trade with Stuart on 10/20. I shipped him quite a few Circle Orboros models, and he went silent a few days later. He confirmed that he got the package but hadn't even opened it up because his partner just had a baby. I totally get that, and I'm an alright dude, so I said no worries, just get your half of the trade sent out soon. He had previously mentioned it was ready to ship and would have it out "barring an emergency".

I didn't think to get his phone number, but I do have a name and address. I'm adept at googling and found their baby registry, found him on Bartertown and confirmed his address. It would be nice to know if anyone else knows this guy. I know shipping a box of mans to someone anonymous online takes a major backseat to caring for a newborn, but still........

I figured I'd post a transaction report just so it could be pleasantly resolved in the future. I doubt it was a scam, but my polite PM reminders are most likely useless if he hasn't logged in.

I had a similar situation, ended up getting in touch with him through his local gaming group. He hadn't been on dakka since the kid and totally forgot. You could try mailing him a letter, only costs 40 cents or whatever.

It looks like I'll be sending a letter! Have you contacted him since the kid was born?

I mailed FenrisianStuart21 a postcard this morning. The front has a picture of a sad-looking kid, above whom I wrote: "did you forget about me?" and the back prompting him to get on dakka...

If you want to PM me the information you have on him, I can check our records on BT and do a bit more digging for you online (I'm fairly adept).

I already creeped him out there. His username is the same, and he hasn't posted on there as far as I could tell.

BTW, I was "deaddeerguts" on BT, so I know just how crappy a bad trade can be. At least the person I "screwed over" was only out a few bucks for bits (that I didn't want) and didn't mail stuff to me...

Well, I don't recall your issue off hand, but a bad trade is a bad trade. I have access to info you may not. So, if I can help, I'm willing to.

Yes please! If I could just give this guy a call or proper email that would probably solve the whole thing! So far, I confirmed that they were having a baby.

I don't understand why people wait until someone else has a problem before piling on the "Me, too" posts. If you have a trade with someone that's going awry -especially if you have reached the point of filing with PayPal, etc.- you really should report it. Doing so can save other people from experiencing what you're going through.

[/soapbox]
Sorry 'bout that.

Update!! FenrisianStuart lives! I got shipping confirmation today.

If it's a box of rocks, I'll let you know. I bet it's gonna be a bunch of plastic though.

That has to be the funniest thing I have ever heard someone doing to try and get his models shipped. Props to you man! Hope it works out!

I've reached out to both parties I was involved in trades with. I've shipped and provided tracking info. Life happens sometimes and I apologize for any delay and inconvenience caused. I have a good trade standing on here and hope that my standing remains intact after these trades are resolved.

If anyone had any questions, I'm back online at a normal rate and can answer them through PM

Did the letter idea work?

Super pumped if it did.

I posted the items before I received the postcard. To be honest, were the situation different and I received said postcard it would have promoted me to make good on a bad deal just out of respect for the originality.

EDIT: I've spoken with Craftbrews and we have come to an agreeable solution. His comment above reflects the result of our conversation.

Best part of all this was nerd-stalking you and finding your baby registry... I'll never feel clean again.

MODS! All is well. Thanks for indulging me.
