Hi,

I'm just starting to put together a legion Lascannon squad and I was wondering what this mystery bit was (see attached image) can anybody help me?

That's the Raimos Pattern Fudge Butler MK3.

Or just a remote control for one of the guardsmen to hold/calibrate the machine with or whatever.
Think of it as a less futuristic I-Pad or Ziggy from Quantum Leap.

Is it not an additional targetting thingy to put on the squad sergeant's gun?

That's a rather personal question, isn't it?

You can probably mount it anywhere you like if you really want to use it.

You, sir, are now responsible for me spending the next 5 mins cleaning the coffee off my workstation.

If you look at the various other heavy weapon options you can get a rough idea of where it might go.

On the Autocannons it attaches to the support handle. (on the left)

Same goes for the Heavy Bolter.

Plasma Cannon it attaches to the wrist.

You can't see it on any of the other weapons, but I'm guessing it's much of the same depending on how they hold their guns.

Or have a guy hold it, look through it as a range ringer, plug in some co ordinates or wear it on his belt to look important.

Will it not fit in the rectangular-ish recess on the top surface above the shoulder mount?

Not really.

It looks like attaching it to the wrist is the way forward.
