I love these reports, keep them coming. I'm not sure how useful the two chapter masters are, maybe this was just an off game for them.

Nonsense. The Battle Company box is perfect for filling out your ranks of aspect warriors with a large contingent from the Screaming Baldies shrine.

glad you enjoy them dude!

double CM's are nasty - especially when both their Orbital bombardments hit...

...Thankfully not this game though lol!

Did he take a fire raptor one game or am I imagining that? I feel like that would be more useful than the dev cents

Raptors are nasty. I ran one in this game back when I had my Sons of Horus!

+1, another really good game. Weirdly enough I was thinking of the exact same nid list as the one above today. Obviously not to run myself since I don't do nids, but simply as a theory. Clearly not a good theory at first practice. A bit unlucky with the first knight blowing up and almost killing another knight, one disadvantage of having to place the knights within 3" of each other to get the benefits. Keep the battle reports coming they're good.

Very strong comeback for the Knights-Nidz list midgame... I didn't think you could make a game of it that point. Great report !

I absolutely love these battle reports. Lists are always competitve and both players seem to know the up and up about all the rules/strategies.

Keep them coming!

You actually won the primary 6-5 as the Nid player. The Mucolids don't give up VP for being killed. They're just like spore mines in that respect. Which is why your list is so ridiculously strong. And by the way, you really did have some crazy bad dice. My eyes about popped out of my head when you said how many hull points were just vaporizing off of those Knights early on

@luke1705, knights are super heavies so for every 3hp you do to one, it gives up a victory point. So a completely dead lance formation gives 6 victory points, correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe you are correct about the spore mines. I think space marines still would of won though.

Totally missed that about spore mines! wooohooo another win for me! Haha.

The 1VP per 3 HP on a super heavy is a house ruling. It was a thing for escalation games but nothing else.

Haha see I knew that list was too OP to lose

As far as the house rule, you should check because some tournaments have adopted it (as they all modify the rules in some way, or otherwise adopt things that are not technically RAW - self-ally, etc)

I know some tournies use that rule - what you agreed upon up front is what counts .

Supers do not confer the additional HP at caledonian- which is what we were practicing for.

Cheers anyway.

As long as 2 or more knights stay within 3" of another, they can re roll failed invulnerable saves and failed charges.

Wow...that was a surprising report. Adlance Tyranids can be so strong. However, their weakness would be in the Maelstrom missions, because then you'd have to either land your flyrants or break up the Adlance formation to go for objectives.

Sorry to say, but props to the Marine player for doing as well as he did against your monster of a list.
