Officials are telling Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, residents to stay in their homes and lock their doors as police search for a suspect in a shooting spree that left six people dead and wounded another overnight, authorities said.
Officials identified the suspect as 35-year-old Bradley William Stone of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, adding that all of the victims at three separate locations in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, are related to Stone.
He may be wearing military fatigues and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. Stone is known to use a cane or walker.
"Stone may be wearing military fatigues, in either sand or green color," the district attorney's office said in a statement posted to Facebook. "Stone should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Stone’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately. Do not approach him.
"Police are conducting an extensive search in and around Pennsburg, at both known and outdoor locations where Stone may be located," the statement added. "People in that area should remain in-doors, keep their doors locked and call 9-1-1 if they think they have seen the suspect."
"We are searching for shooter," Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri told the AP in a text message.
SWAT teams surrounded a home at Penn and Highland avenues in in Souderton, Pennsylvania, where a suspect in the shootings was originally believed barricaded inside, police told ABC station WPVI-TV in Philadelphia. Witnesses heard a loud boom shortly before an unidentified person was taken out of the house on a stretcher.
Police also surrounded another home in nearby Pennsburg.
More shootings occurred at a location in nearby Lansdale, Pennsylvania, with two people killed, WPVI reported.
Two more people were killed at a third scene in Souderton borough, according to the station.
It was not immediately clear where the sixth victim was killed.
Not the best article I could find, but the most up to date. The first victim was his children's mother. He killed her in Pennsburg, took the kids, and went to Lansdale to cap her mother. From there 3 more victims were apparently related to him, but the 6th wasn't.
My parents and son live in Lansdale, My sister lives in Pennsburg, and she can see the SWAT teams from her windows. Crazy close to home for my taste

The cooldowns are gone and right now is the best time to do it. Its the holidays which means people have their guard down a bit.
But eh I am sounding like a conspiracy theorist when I say that. It could be. But I HIGHLY doubt it has a connection to it. Could be a lone gunman, Which is what I am hoping for.
Nothing is more dangerous than a lone terrorist on a mission.

Multiple sources say all the victims except the 6th have "familial" ties to the shooter. Seeing as he took the kids with, its probably over them

Okay. So its just a crazy gunman. Huh. Interesting. Maybe a serial killer?
Oh cool. (No offense to the families)
But this seems interesting. I wonder what triggered him.

A former Marine reservist suspected of killing six family members, including his ex-wife, and wounding another in three towns across Montgomery County, Pennsylvania Monday morning is on the loose as police continue to search for him.
Bradley William Stone, 35 of Pennsburg, is considered armed and dangerous. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said all of the victims are related to him. Police are actively searching for him and residents of one town are being asked to stay indoors, the district attorney said.
Bradley Stone is suspected in the shooting deaths of six people, including his ex-wife Nicole Hill (pictured right), the Montgomery County District Attorney said. He's also accused in shooting a man. He remains at large.
Stone stands 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighs 195 lbs., has a red beard and mustache and close-cropped hair. He is known to use a cane or walker to assist in moving, Vetri Ferman said. He may also be wearing military fatigues — either green or brown.
The man served more than eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and was deployed to Iraq, according to a Marine Corps spokesman. During his time, he earned several medals and his specialty was an Artillery Meteorological Man — effectively a meteorologist that monitors weather conditions to ensure military fire accuracy.
Officer Shoots Suspect in Head During Deadly Stop
SWAT officers are using military-grade vehicles to search the town of Pennsburg, where the suspect is from. Vetri Ferman advised residents in the area to remain indoors and call 911 right away if they spot him.
One of the victims is Nicole Hill, Stone's ex-wife. She was shot inside her apartment in the Harleysville section of Lower Salford Township, just feet from their kids, sometime between 4 and 5 a.m., police sources and neighbors tell NBC10.

“I heard the kids say, ‘Mommy no. I want my mom.’ And I heard [the suspect] say ‘Let’s go. We have to go now. We’re leaving,’” the woman’s next-door neighbor at the Pheasant Run Apartments along 150 Main Street said.
Moments after being jolted awake by the gunshots and hearing the yelling, the woman saw the children, believed to be 8-and 5-years-old, and a man running to a car parked outside.

“I opened the window and I asked him ‘Is everything OK?’ He just looked at me and said ‘She’s hurt pretty bad. We have to leave. She’s hurt.’ And he just got in the car and left," she said.
When police arrived a short time later, they found the mother dead inside the second-floor apartment, police sources tell NBC10. Two bullet holes dotted the apartment's outer wall.
Police are actively investigating four scenes in Montgomery County as part of the shooting spree involving suspected gunman Bradley Stone. Officials said shootings took place at three of the locations -- Harleysville, Lansdale and Souderton. The fourth location, in Pennsburg, is where SWAT officers are searching for Stone, near his home.
The children were located safe at a neighbor’s home, sources said, but the suspect remained at large as police responded to other related scenes across the county.
In Lansdale, eight miles from where Nicole Hill's body was discovered, police found her 75-year-old grandmother, Patricia, and another person dead inside her home along W. Fifth and Pierce streets. Police spent three hours searching the area following the shooting, but turned up nothing.

Bodies were discovered at a third home, owned by Hill's sister, in the town of Souderton. SWAT officers surrounded the home along the 100 block of Penn Avenue and spent hours trying to make contact with a person inside.
Around 11 a.m., officers fired a diversionary device into the home and, following the resulting boom, entered. Inside, they found several dead bodies and a man that was still alive, officials said. He was rushed to a waiting medical helicopter and flown to Thomas Jefferson Hospital's trauma center in Philadelphia, officials said.

The situation prompted homes to be evacuated and a shelter in place order to be activated in the Souderton Area School District. That was lifted around noon as SWAT officers left the Penn Avenue scene. That home remains under investigation as an active crime scene, Towamencin Township Police Chief Paul Dickinson said.
Those officers, driving a mine-resistant vehicle, then made their way to a fourth home, a duplex owned by Stone, along Main and W. 4th Streets in Pennsburg. That home is about 20 miles from Souderton and is where additional SWAT officers have been stationed for hours.
SWAT officers broke down a garage door, fired several gas canisters inside and used a microphone to say "Bradley, this is the police. Come out now."
They threw another four gas canisters through home's first floor around 1:30 p.m., but despite these efforts, there has been no response from inside. They then expanded their search to areas nearby.
The Upper Perkiomen Valley School District placed its schools on a lockout as a result of the Pennsburg SWAT response, district officials told parents. They were being released on a staggered schedule starting at 3:45 p.m.
Sources said officials have asked other county law enforcement agencies to send two-men patrol cars to assist in the search. Officials in neighboring Bucks County and the FBI confirmed they are also supporting the effort.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman is expected to make a statement on the shootings sometime Monday from an operations center that has been set up at the Lower Salford Police Station.
It was his ex wife, and he went to each of her families homes and slotted them too.

Dude, Montgomery County PA has a nuclear power plant and 2 of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies. Most of them are also vets, and the sheriff's department gets more funding for toys then most major cities do. This guy is screwed, its a matter of time.

Reading all of the posts on this thread helps.
Reading between the lines, of whats been posted. He's 35 ex marine served in iraq. Wounded now
walks with a stick, split up with his wife.
I'm thinking possible PTSD, and he's finally lost it. And if he's served his country, this is a sad ending.

While PTSD is certainly possible, and even plausible; I personally would be looking more closely at how recently things ended with the ex-wife. Also, look at how ugly the divorce proceedings were and that sort of thing.
In my very limited experience (anecdotal evidence time!!!), it seems that the uglier things get while the divorce is going on, and even post-divorce if kids are involved... increases the likelihood of this sort of thing happening.

Thanks for effectively quoting the article verbatim but it didn't really say whether he was always a reservist or ever full time. I am assuming always a reservist because it doesn't say otherwise, but was hoping someone might know from a different source one way or the other.

The area they're currently searching in is very close to where I live. We've received calls to stay indoors and heard helicopters pass overhead. I've driven past the spot where Stone apparently tried to carjack someone innumerable times.
It's weird feeling more in danger up near Doylestown than I ever did down in Philly.

Decently enough I think. Between my and my dad's hunting and my Dad's slow descent into 'old white guy syndrome,' we've probably got the most guns in a decent area, not counting the flintlock and bows.
