@Trollmeat

I'd have to agree, as I love how it looks on libbys as well, especially the soul drinkers chapter master before the mutation.

But I think it's considered it's own and more of a relic, as tactical dreadnought...I know it's a power armor, but kind of it's own beast, and would stomp all other selections in the poll haha.

I'm actually surprised to see how many MKVI Corvus fans are out there, I thought it being plain and having less decorative attributes and all (atleast as I've seen aside from Shrike)

This polls been pretty fun and informative!

Mk III cause it's the armour an Iron Warrior would wear for work. And Mk VI for nostalgia value.

Haha, cool, we just had a discussion on the MKIII and the iron warriors!

Thank you for your reasoning behind your selection. =D

Mk. 3 is good

Mk 8, Errant, is better.

MAKE ERRANT ARMOUR ALREADY FW! People have wanted this for years!

Does anybody remember the MajorTom poll?

@ Great White

No, not the same poll, I hate redunancies as much as most other people haha, I was thinking possibly weapon selection, or maybe even the bolter rifles through the ages of WH40K. Who knows!

@ TrollMeat

I Suppose I can still do that and edit it into the subject post. Sorry xD

@ Medium of Death

They do have MK8 thrown into random kits, but I don't think forgeworld offers it like they do every other type, Which is a shame! Even though, the MKVIII is reserved for veteran members as I recall.

I love the Mk II and Mk III patterns. It's the archaic look that I like. It clashes against the backdrop of high tech armour in the distant future. Makes for an interesting dichotomy. Plus the Mk III was originally designed during the great crusade to deal with the Squats and there strong weapons during the all of the tunnel fighting

It is VIII, VI, then VII for me. I really like the VIII Errant chest armor, and the head is the most iconic Space Marine helm for me. The VI Corvus armor is fun because it is so different than the other stuff due to the Beakie helm. VIII and VII aren't that different, but the abdominal section of the VII isn't as nice as the VIII, IMO. I do like the segmented legs armor of the VIII and VII better than the singular greaves of the VI. The belt and thigh armor of the VI is more detailed and cooler on the VII than the VIII. The asymmetrical shoulder pauldrons of the Corvus are a bit of a turn of for me too.

What armor is the helmet that almost looks a bit like an elephant trunk from? The face grill is more elongated than a VIII or VII helmet, and has lines that almost look like segmentations running down the sides.

On moon miranda.

Personally I like Mk III, Mk IV, and Mk VI a lot. The classic old-school feel of the Beaky has a lot going for it.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Despite all the nipple armor jokes, I think the sculpted armor of the Blood Angels looks great. Especially the "exposed muscle" look of Mephiston and Astorath.

@casvalremdeikun

I'm not sure, can you post a picture? It sounds like tactical dreadnought armour? Terminator armour....Chaos termie miniatures generally have mutated tusks growing out of their vents.

@Orblivion

I've also taken a liking to the armour that Astorath and Mephiston don, it looks pretty awesome. But nipple armour? Ha, that is pretty funny. Still cool, but funny, in the same way as the Corvus taking the nick-name "Beakie"

If it's the one I think you mean, MkIV. But I think it's a GW plastic MkIV which look a bit different to the FW MkIV.

I thought MK IV at first as well. But the more I think about it, the vents he's describing sounds like a termie helm.

He definitely mentioned the ridges down the sides. Sorry for the double post, whenever I add more than one photo to a post on my iPad it posts them all as the same photo -.-

Haha okay, yeah, def the maximus pattern then.

I heard elephant trait, so I thought of the chaos mutations almost instantly. I had posted MK IV originally, then edited it out. Double guessing is almost always a fail.

For me, the Mk 5 armor. Not the later "versions of it, but the first appearance of it that had BOTH shoulder pads and BOTH shins studded and all the torso cabling exposed. To me, that just looked totally cool and menacing.

Hmm, can you find a photo of this MK V? I'd love to see it! I don't believe I've seen that type, just the style with a single pauldron and one shin really sticks out in my mind.

Hmmmm... It may be I misremembered. googled it and think I had found it but it only had one shoulder pad studded. I coulda swore it had both. It was when they first did the "armor through the agres" back in the 90s and I ordered 5 of this one model. They are long gone now but wish I still had them. Might be they only had one and I misremember. I had forgotten about the studs on the helmet.
I think they did later releases of them without arms for you to customise them.

I'f I'm wrong on that, I apologize but even if i did, to me it looks the coolest.

Hmm, that would be a lot cooler, probably an OOP. I've been finding some cool out of productions on Ebay actually, you may be able to find em there. I'd like to get a mix of most for my IF army, especially the MKIII/IV

It's a draw between Mark IV Maximus and Mark VI Corvus for me. Both are a nice blend of Sci-fi with subtle fantasy undertones. Marks I-III are to fantasy-ish for my tastes. I can live with Aquilas and Errands, Vader grilles notwithstanding. And what's up with all those balls-y things on the Mk V Heresy? What were they trying to make, a walking Dalek?

They are molecular bonding studs. MkV armour isn't technically a single mark, it's a catch all for the Ad Hoc field repaired armour the Loyalists were forced to use during the Heresy. Basically bits of other armour bolted together. The studs also held deflect bullets/swords etc.

Yeap, that's how I've always known the MK V. The studs being a deterrent to the explosive bolter rounds, Space Marines very own munitions were devestating against the MKIV ceramite armour. IIRC anyways

Aquila and Errant just have a sleek, "new" feel to them. I honestly don't like ones like Iron as they seem too much like old, outdated armor.... I want my marines wearing the best!

Beaky helmet was a close second, I always throw a couple in for good luck. There's something about them that in my experience they always roll saves better....
