Is it just me, or does almost every blood angel list have a terminator librarian, a sanguinary priest and Dante as the warlord. It's just becoming annoying now. Seriously, put some original thought into your list and maybe you'll come up with something better than this.

Because they are cheap or durable?

Kinda like how Riptides are supposed to be exceptionally rare, and the process to create Wraithknights requires very specific circumstances and they shouldn't exactly be common. Or that EVERY White Scars army has Kosarro Khan and runs more bikes in a company than the Chapter itself has. Or perhaps how Belial or Sammael seem to be running all over the galaxy. And what about Lysander or Pedro Kantor being in the high point Fists lists. Perhaps it should bother you too that Tigurius seems to spend more time with allied armies than he ever does with his own Chapter. Seriously, dude gets around.

Want to know why as of late Blood Angels lists are running around with Termie Libs and Priests? Because they got new models and people want to run with them. Dante just happens to be a very good buy for his points.

I did put some original thought into my list, I run Dante and TWO Sanguinary Priests

Seriously, why would you care how other people want to run their Blood Angels?

Its what happens when you don't have HQs that aren't very well varied in customization. You go "feth it" and pay what you need to get to the good stuff, like Dante.

I blame the cause as Eternal Warrior not being available to more codices (for a suitable price of course), no one wants to see their custom HQ being ID in a melee.

I'd be ridiculously happy if they bumped the points on the captains iron halo to make it grant eternal warrior too.

Why are you complaining? Commander Dante is the oldest living space marine, he is supposed to be a complete bad ass yet his rules have been mediocre at best for as long as most BA players can remember, he's finally getting some more game time because he's now awesome. It's not like he's been a staple for years.

As for priests well if you tie durability bubbles to characters you're bound to see more of them and Librarians are far better in the current edition.

Add in the loss of reclusiarchs and the fact that liturgies of blood no longer grant re rolls to wound for DC, pretty sure crosius arcanum has taken a hit in the newer editions too, means that chaplains which used to be a bit of a BA regular are now no longer optimal.

If you want to see more varied lists then you need to play in less competitive circles, there are plenty of other auto includes across the codices due to poor internal balance or the state of the core rules making some choices far superior.

Are tyranid players not original because none of them take pyrovores?
Put some original thought into your comment and consider why people are taking these.
In fact I'll even help you.
-New models
-Most competitive choices
-People using old collections
-Buffing characters

Now I've helped you out I won't elaborate on any of those points any further, you can figure them out yourself with some original thought :-).

Better?
I'd take Corbulo if he had access to a Jump Pack.
I'd take a Chaplain if they still allowed DC to re-roll To Wounds.
I would pick a Furioso Librarian if he wasn't twice the price of a normal Librarian.
I could even see myself skipping on Dante if I didn't have 40 models with JP and if he wasn't the only way to get a guaranteed Descent of Angels which used to be an army-wide rule.

So what do you want me to take instead?
Astorath seems okay, though he might be a bit too expensive.
Techmarines, haha, just kidding.
Captains? They are and will forever be a joke. A Sanguinary Priest trades a small amount of profile-stats for a gigantic unit-buff.
Sanguinor is still way too expensive, though he is a lot cheaper than he used to be.

And one more thing: The Codex has been out for two weeks, stop being so impatient. How many games did you play in these two weeks? Because the rest of us was busy celebrating Christmas.
After all these years Dante, our Chapter Master, is finally a really good pick. No wonder everyone wants to field him.

Tau: riptides, HYMP broadsides
Allied: ultra smurfs with tiggy
SW: Thunderwolf cavalry and mounted lord
GK: terminators and dread knights

People don't complain about seeing clone armies everywhere just because they lose to them. It also gets boring playing against the same army list constantly.

After two weeks during the Christmas Holidays? Naah, at this point I think it's just the losing part.

Plus if you look at the threads about BA plus the lists on the army list page, you will find a gak ton of variety.
