Powerfist is almost but not quite completely pointless since the Onager only gets one attack. That helps with what - maybe one or two elite models charging it? It's still take a million years to fight off a marine squad, or heck an IG squad. IWND is nice though. Not sure if 25 points on top of the points spent on the weapon upgrade is worth it though.

Sure, if you have a squad of 3 of these crabs, that's 3 s10 attacks, so that could be helpful (still only kills 3 guardsmen a turn). But then you're talking another 75 points total for the squad. Worth it? I don't know...

The formations from tomorrows release of the Skitarii codex are leaked as people are starting to get the new book now. There are 4 listed here in these leaks, although they are in German.

The names of them are Battle Maniple, War Cohort, Sicarian Killclade, and the Ironstrider Cavaliers. Lets take a quick look at what is in each one... and possibly someone can translate.

Here is a link to the site hosting the leaked images

War Cohort
3 Battle Maniples

Sicarian Killclade
3 Sicarian Ruststalkers
1 Sicarian Infiltrator

Ironstrider Cavaliers
2 Sydonian Dragoons
1 Ironstrider Ballistarii

Battle Maniple:
Special rules:
Reroll warlord trait
Units within 12" of the Onager got leadership 10
Units get crusader and scout (but can not use the scout rules to outflank, only if they got another rule like infiltrate which allows them to outflank anyway)

War cohort
reroll warlord trait and warlord gets preferred enemy usr
You can one Doctrina-Imperativa twice in a game

Sicarian Killclade
infiltrator 6" special rules is expended to 12" now
once per game a unit of ruststalkers can assault even when they ran in the shooting phase

Ironstrider Cavaliers

Worth it for me, since all I plan on fielding is tanks and the basic troops with mabye an elite or two. I actually need to bulk out my points, and making sure if I get charged by some nasty I can actually hurt it instead of dying slowly for nothing is worth it to me.

Eh. More often than not you'll still be tarpitted even with those fists. I guess an MC will think twice about charging you, because you could get lucky and kill it but everything else will just tarpit you up.

But hey, if you have points to spare why not... IWND helps against shooting attacks which is mostly what you'll be concerned about...

Woah, three of each squad just to get preferred enemy on your warlord?

I mean, if you keep everything to min squads, you can do it pretty cheaply, but to actually make an effective list out of that.. just for preferred enemy and one extra use of +3 BS in a game... I dunno, doesn't really seem worth it to me.

Interesting idea though. Isnt this the first squadron with IWND?

can you reposition models to put wounded ones towards the back where they will regain hull points placing fresh ones up front to take the hits.

yeah it's not. I could only see myself using that in an apoc game of like 3000+ points.

I've got the English codex and just updated the Battlescribe files. Everything is in the files except for Warlord Traits and the Skitarii Maniple rules because there's no good place to put them. Start list building!

A Battle Maniple is 600 points which makes a War Cohort 1800 points.

There's a bug in the new files: it says I can't take three special weapons in a ten-man ranger squad.

You're right, thank you for the report! Sorry that got missed. Expect a bugfix release tomorrow. That restriction also doesn't work within a formation but that's a bug within Battlescribe itself.

Mars: the red and white we've seen
Lucius: like Mars with red capes but very dark almost-black armor and vehicles, and cream cloth
Agripinaa: Like Mars but invert red and black. Also the red is a bit brighter.
Stygies VIII: Red plate, black robes
Graia: Another mix of black, cream, and two shades of red
Metalica: Mostly bone white, red markings and accents.
Ryza: Something different! Ochre orange

There are so many Forge Worlds out there you should probably make up your own if you don't want to do Mars. I'll probably do dark green to match Dark Angels and Cadians.

Don't have time to scan myself but I'm sure others will soon.

Are you meaning that the robes are black while the pressure suits are red?

yeah like that. Any combination of red, off-white, black, and metal you can think of, that's all of the forge worlds except the orange one.

I think the Onager is cool enough, the design seems quite like all the various four-leg walkers from AT-43 or Dust.
