Yeah, definitely have some Blood for the Blood God splattered and running across that super-happy smiley... it's nice and creepy.

It would also be fitting to change my 40K background music from epic soundtracks to Louis Armstrong...

"I see trees of green..." BLAM! "...Red roses too..." PUNCH! RIP! SCREAMS! "...and I think to myself..." ZAP! SIZZLE! "...what a wonderful woooooorlllld... Oooo yeah..."

I think I may just paint a smiley face now. Maybe one with a smile and the other with a scowl.

Also, can we get a photoshopped dalek head on this thing?

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

As long as we are on the subject of fixing the models...

I've been looking at the Ironstrider and trying to figure out why I don't like the design too much, concluding that it's the nature of the servitor making it look too busy.

Please excuse my MS Paint atrocious edit but this is my fix for the model to make it look more streamlined.

What do you guys think? It seems to be much more streamlined without the servitor and with under-slung auto-cannon.

Once again apologies for the quality of the pic.

Not a fan of the Dragoon, but the under-slung heavy weapon looks great. I may have to steal that

Ah yes, a Gamma Pistol.

Because the Adeptus Mech really, really, really needed another unique weapon.

really AdMech should commonly have weapons that other IoM factions consider rare. Like the BA inferno pistol.

Not bad, but honestly nothing to write home about.

I'm going to pick up a box of the basic adeptus, because they look like some great conversion material. They're not all that special., otherwise.
This isn't a beginners army, either. You have a walker tank, a few sentinels that act like fast attack, and if you want to go crazy, add in a knight. As for staying power, GW should have put more effort into what's already out there. These guys are a passing fad army, people are going to start acting like they did when GW brought out the Tau for the first iteration...

Except the minute you ally in transports, those Vanguard become one of the deadliest basic troops in the game. In Drop Pods, Haywire squads, or Plasma Caliver squads, with BS7 put out a withering amount of fire-power. Many lists fold up and die on the alpha-strike.

Oh, and between heavy phosphor, and omni-spex (plus maybe an allied in auspex), cover saves go "poof" and they liquidate bikes.

Yes, they are a higher execution army, but with only a few small additions, they've been performing very well for me, against very competitive opponents.

Yep, pretty much.

Future Mickey would tear you a new one.
This model is so easily photoshopable. Haha. Going to buy them anyways.

Like I said.

Just like the "Tau can do no wrong" army when they first showed up, as well.
And just like them, people will just stop playing you when you come up with a smug face and as fast as they set up, they are putting their stuff away.

Of course if that's your idea of a good time, by all means.

New lickies and chewies is one thing. Tired is another.

Conversation yesterday revolved around the obiqiutous nerf and how we see this sort of thing when any new army comes out. Great on the onset for sales, craptastic failure on continuance.

The new nickname for big hero six is... Big Hero Six.

No one likes the robot. The thing is an overpriced pile of gak.

Yeah, I think the robot is fine as well. I do think it will look better if I paint the faceplate thing bronze instead of silver, though.

I like the robot as well though I have to say that the more sensible photoshops are definitely better. The heads with a flat surface look awesome, not sure how easy it would be to actually achieve though...

How is that a rant?

Because I had a conversation and people weren't all jumping for joy over the new lickies and chewies? I'm the disinterested 3d party here, champ. I could care less about them.

The opinion local is that the robot is meh.

My opinion is the silly thing doesn't look like it even belongs in this game. Great if you like it, but others don't. Honestly though, I really didn't even see it, so I'm meh on it in the first place.
One guy said it was an afterthought model, to keep giant robots in the game. Personally, I'd shoot its legs off and dump shape charges on it, but that's just me for any giant robot on the boards. Price for that, you could just as well pick up another walking tank.

The running gag is that it's GW going Disney/ transformers, to keep people interested, along with the other new shiny big giant shogun toys.

I still want a box of the admech guys. if that's ok with you.

Sorry if there is dissenting opinions, but this one is a new army, so of course its going to get the wiz bang.

We'll see if they have the Eldar top them, this time around. It'll be 2d edition all over again.

If I was going to rant, I'd rant over the price. Stuff is a bit much, this time around. Even for GW's overinflated ego.

^ Indeed they are! judging from the small arms name choices (like Jezzhail, Arquebus) And the unit name like Dragoons. And the outfits. these came from early renaissance era. so if the standard Skitarii firerams is called Musket (no matter how advance these guns are), the notion 'Musketeers of Mars' fits.

To me they look too steampunk to take these names. and much of their weapons have 18th century 'wildwest' appearance like Radium (revolver) Jezzhail.
