I have no intention of doing this, but could you take 2 of the same named HQ (for example, Abaddon) in 1 army?
If a CSM army is going against another CSM army, can both take Abbadon?

In the same army, "unique" gets in the way
Between opponents? there is no mtg legendary rules.

I don't play Magic so I'm not sure what "legendary rules" means? Does that mean only 1 person can play with a particular card?

You may only have one of each model with the Unique rule in your entire army. This means that you can only have one Abbadon in your army, regardless of how many Detachments you have.
Since your opponent has a different army, he can also have an Abbadon, so it's entirely possible to have Abbadon vs. Abbadon. They just have to be on different sides.

Ah no it basicily means when two "legendary" cards on the table at the same time they kill them selves (so both are removed)
But basicily there is no rules preventing two people from bringing a failabbadon. or lysander or whoever.

You should try to work out with your opponent which one is the evil twin.

This really doesnt have anything to do with the topic, but the legend rule was changed when core set 2014 came out, you can now have the same legendary card your opponent has but no player can control 2 of them, when a player plays a second copy he choses 1 and sends that one to the grave (not both of them). So MTG now works just like 40k link if youre interested: http://archive.wizards.com/Magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/248f

It's Abaddon in a CSM army, wouldn't it be working out which is the good twin?

There was the story about a Warboss whose Waaaaagh went back in time to the planet they left the warp from.
So he killed himself to have a duplicate of his favorite Shoota.
Then there was the tale of the maiden voyage of an Imperial cruiser. They popped out at their destination planet, but 100 years in the past. They were destroyed because they were an unknown vessel.

If you can find the evil one, then by process of elimination, the other one is the good twin. It’s just usually easier to find the evil twin though, by the presence of scars or goatees. Or for the ladies, the slutty outfits.
Unless they are doing the evil twin/eviler twin. In which case you might just want to resort to exterminatus.
If it’s not a twin, it could be an impostor, warp flux, assassin using polymorphine, clone, or any/all of the above. Forge that narrative!

I know exactly what he is talking about! If that was the case then I would take an allied detachment of my most hated HQ to kill them both off.
Also is it possible to take
CAD 1
Failbadon
2x10 Cultists
CAD2
Failbadon
2x10 Cultists
CAD 3
Failbadon
2x10 cultist
CAD 4
Failbadon
2x10 cultist
Have all the Failbadons deep strike at the enemy?

My play group has a house rule that if both sides field the same special character and one side's version survives the battle but the other side's doesn't the side whose special character lived gets an extra victory point because clearly the other side's character was an impostor.
