Hey I just added a Lasermodule to a Vindicator and I want to show you how you can do the same:
Here is the result:
What do you need:
- 1x laser module with the size 9x20 mm and 3V operating voltage. Example: "LFD650-1-12(9x20)"
- 1x CR2023 battery holder and a CR2023 battery
- 1x Electronic button with a large cap (about 8-10mm) Height can be adjusted but my one is 15mm heigh
- 1x Stripboard (30x50mm)
- 6x Magnets (I used 4x1 mm)
- Soldering accesoirs
- 1 x Vindicator (unassembled)
### Warning
Lasers are no toy! Never look directly into a laser or point a laser at someone!
### 1. Stick the Laser to the Vindicator
Screw a hole in the middle of the cannonplate, then add some glue to the front of the laser module (no on the lens!) and stick it to the back of the plate.
Take care of the wires that they fit trough the Vindicator. And don't stick the cannon to the body yet!
### 2. Create the Electronics
Place the parts on the stripboard as shown in the picture, you can check the position of the trigger as shown before you sold everything together.
It's a normal circuit with a button, just make sure that the + and - pole are correct for the laser module (red is + and black is -).
### 3. Add the Magnets to the Stripboard
Place the magnets as shown in the picture. I sticked on of the unused cannon parts to the floor of the body just underneath the trigger.
Take care that you isolate the magnets when you stick them to the electronic boards. I used a small piece of plastic foil and a piece of a base under
the trigger to fill the gap.
### 4. Build the Hatch button
For the hatch I used 2 other Magnets to have a movable part as shown in the picture. Use the pole from the cannon to have a connection to the button on
the electronics. Here you should adjust the length that it fits to your button height. I made the pole a bit smaller to adjust the exact height with some paper for the best trigger experience.
### 5. Calibrate the Laser and stick it to the body
Now you can stick the Laser to the body but you should calibrate the right position. I placed another Vindicator some meters away from my Laservindicator and stuck the laser so that the light was in the other cannon of the Vindicator.
That would certainly make it easier to tell when the Vindicator has line of sight to something.
lol, talk about never being able to contest line of sight!
You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!
