Because "your understand" (ing) of the 40k community is wrong in most cases. It's been told to you that it is wrong and yet you continue to proclaim that it is right. You are concluding that, because you are in the "40k community" your statements are true. I understand what you people are saying but it is wrong to me. I guess people cant see that. To me and many and many others there is only one way to play army effectively like eldar ws spam is the best for eldar. abd yes in understand standing any time a game gets updated mean everthing from that ed is now out dated. So you have to rebuy everything rules all codexs snd models etc . That is what i was told about 40k as soon as i went to play with groups just like min battles size is 1500pt games under that are not worth playing.

Because your experience is not reflective of the game in general and you are a very unique case. Your meta as you describe it is a terrible representation of the game and really has no place in a discussion of 40k in general. Just because I can stomp my friend's awful list with my Space Marines where my only vehicle is a Rhino does not mean that a footslogging army is a good choice. See the difference is that I don't tell new players that it is a good idea, but you tell new players that your unique experience in a flawed meta is ALL of the game. That is wrong. And yet for some reason you still do it despite people telling you on many occasions how wrong it is. You state your opinion as fact when it isn't. That is how it hurts the community. Some new player might read your 'post' and think "this guy has X amount of posts so he must know what he's talking about". It can happen. And then that poor player is going to make decisions just as bad as yours in an environment that isn't yours and likely won't get the enjoyment that 40k has to offer.

Your experience is NOT the experience of every player ever.

I have a mech Biel-Tan list I've been running since 4e with basically no changes, it's not always top of the meta but it keeps working.

So your telling me that my whole game group and store owner etc have been lieing to me for 5yrs i find that hard to believe .
Also i thought it was just a giving that when rules got up dated ur models become out date that is what i was told by store owner and my group why would15 people be lieing to me for so long.

Models dont get outdated (sorry pariahs).
You dont always have to run tournament builds.
There is more than one build per army.

ive seen personally in tourneys people playing with RT era models even. (thats some nearly 30 year old models)

So they can (a) buy your sold armies very cheap and the store owner can then (b) sell you a new army.

What is the store owners primary goal? To sell you models. If he is a scam artist he can easily do that if you are gullible enough to believe him. Think about his motivation.
Quick question. If you were so annoyed that you had to sell all your army and buy another army with the new edition, why on earth did you do so if you hate the game so much?
2nd question. If you really believe that you can't use older edition models, then why did you sell those models to an poor unsuspecting buyer who now can't use them?... Up till a year ago I still had and used RT era models. Zilka, you're wrong.
If not, then show us these models that were put out of business when an edition came out.

Well, I suppose that technically some character models that no longer have rules were put out to pasture.

Then again, most of those models now just make for some cool standard characters with appropriate wargear. Like Al'Rahem, he has no official rules anymore, but can still be used as an officer with power sword and plasma pistol.

But that's the only scenario I can think of where Zilka is remotely correct.

I don't play any where else as ijust believed that all place play same way. i sold my stuff on ebay . Why would you not have to buy new models ever rules change seems strange also i don't want have to join a nother club and pay 200 month to be able tp play games

As for your questions, your first one isn't even a question, more of a statement. I guess you learned to do some research on your own rather than blindly believe what someone tells you.

Your second question is loaded; the game doesn't promote abuse, cheating, or WAAC attitudes. Those are entirely products of the players behind the army and should be treated as such.

Two hundred a month? Twenty four hundred dollars a year to game? Utter Bollocks. Mate, they're taking you for a ride. No place does that. Worst I've ever seen is a £15-20 annual membership, or everyone pays a pound or two to cone along for the Game night. And even saying that, Most places are free.
