Is no one else following Thunderbolt Fantasy? It's some crazy martial arts doll nonsense and I've been loving every minute of it. Absolutely worth a watch.
Yeah. The last episode was pretty awesome.
Subaru went from a complete scrub to a cool guy who doesn't afraid of everything.
Its like in Dark Souls how you start off getting your ass beat by a zombie, and you end up killing a friggen god. That's basically what Re: Zero is; its a very well disguised RPG anime, which is why everyone in this world is a complete badass. They are level 50 while the main character is like level 2.

I loved the last episode, especially when Subaru faced down the White Whale and then jumped from it! It is a pity that so many of the fans despise him, especially as up until now he has actually been acting exactly how your average joe would if they where in his situation.

Yeah, they don't seem to understand that Subaru isn't Kohaku (aka Sora and Shiro, who are geniuses in an environment they excel at).
He's some random average kid with no skills, barely any education, who had the misfortune of being thrown into a strange and hostile world where everyone is more competent than him, and who has experienced several deeply traumatizing events.
To build on my video game analogy, he's a casual thrown headfirst into a hardcore game with a strict respawning mechanic, with no tutorial, manual or starter equipment.
I suppose one could count Return by Death as a starter ability, but that's basically just a respawn mechanic; any player gets it, provided they aren't playing on ironman / hardcore.
So yeaaah, he's going to have a bad time.
He's like this age's Shinji, except with a bit more confidence and less Murphy's Law (well, not that much less).
The story is, at its heart, a zero to hero tale. You can't be a zero if you have everything to begin with, and one must earn one's hero status.
But yeah, the whale battle was

fething Awesome. I mean, they droppped a friggen tree on it, and Subaru had a badass moment. I was like Never before has being bait been so epic. The only way it could be more epic is if he was playing a guitar solo and ended it with elbow dropping a T-Rex, who happened to be both a member of the witch cult and a nazi.

I wasn't aware there was a new Berzerk show, I got super mad that I didn't know about that, so that's on the watch list for the weekend.
I'm almost done with Psycho-Pass, it's pretty trope-ey but amusing, especially with it's cookie cutter "slightly feminine mannered Übermensch adonis" of a bad guy and irrepressibly optimistic and absurdly young female protagonist It did have a couple of genuinely hard to watch brutal moments which added some kick though, we'll see how it ends...
IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights! The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Well yeah, that is pretty much it. Subaru is not some kind of super character with amazing abilities, he is a simple person. Hell, he is a gamer and he actually mentions this early on. People are expecting a classic anime hero with all these super powers and crazy abilities, someone who is confident and already skilled with everything and the like. They already have their expectations.
We have been spoiled with overpowered heroes lately (looking at you Kirito) and it is nice to have one who is normal for a change.

I am! It's been fantastic so far, my only gripe with it is that Crunchyroll is using the Chinese names for the characters, which doesn't match up with the audio so I have no clue who anyone's name is and thus I just give them nicknames.

It's a weird choice but I like it for the extra flavour it gives. I also like that they kept the little character poem or w/e it's called in Chinese. The tradition is apparently to have a single actor speak all of the lines for all characters and they're just using that audio for the Japanese release.
This show is better written and more interesting than most shows and it has really given me a taste for more doll drama. It's just so refreshing.

I'll take more puppet wuxia shows. It's definitely an interesting excursion for the creator (Gen Urobuchi).

Never underestimate a man on the edge and close to snapping. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds, as they now got a lawless island without its boss smackdab in the middle of the city. Plus with the prohibition close to ending, the Vanetti family will need to look to a new source of income.
I can't help but feel that they are rushing things quite a bit though with the show, going through characters at quite a rate.
Though we still have the fourth trigger man to look forward to, plus the identity of the mysterious sender of the letter in the first place.
What I think will happen is that Subaru will respawn after the Whale's death, and he will try to work out how the possession works. I suspect it has something to do with that book.

Berserk was nice, Alderamin was quite.. painful and 91 Days really had me on the edge of my seat, the unveil at the end was quite surprising, can't wait until next week's episode now!
Yeh, Beserk and 91 days was hype. Alderamin is growing on me. I didn't like it at first, but I'm beginning to appreciate it. Also, holy gak, its not often
Spoiler:
you see a main character maim himself, with no chance of getting the body part back. That...escalated quickly
In other news, Taboo Tatoo is gak. Would drop, 10/10

Yeah, I
Spoiler:
fully expected the Chief to stop him, but no, he full on yubitsume'd himself.
It'd be great if the light novel got an English release cuz of the show (that seems to be happening a lot these days) but I feel it's too obscure for that to happen.

I was finally bullied into watching new game, seems to be mostly just another of the cute shows where nothing happens, but the premise and characters are good so far.
Also, apparently tsugumomo is going to be made into an anime. Should be interesting, as it's basically soft-core porn with a good story at this point.
