Oh dear, I guess I'll be the first to post pics. The first pic is a picture of our "storeroom" in the house, one half is all my stuff, pictured below. Every box, every bin, contains assembled or unassembled miniatures, about 99% unpainted. What may be difficult to see, is that those shelves are actually 4 shelves high, just all the boxes blocks the view of the bottom shelf so it makes look like even less is there than there really is. To maybe give a slight sense of perspective, the bottom left (where you can see the new Infinity rulebook) is the top of a big Battlefoam PACK 1520XL (also full of unpainted minis, unless you count primer). So, most of the boxes on the floor are stacked 2 to 3 high.

Spoiler:

This second pic is my half of the computer room (and, if you look closely at the screen, you'll see this thread!). The pile on the floor to the right is mostly leftover sprues from assembled minis, but there are also some to be assembled and finished. The shelves on the left above the books are full of minis (about 75% are assembled, others in various states of assembly). And, on the floor by the chair, the brown bookcase by the chair, and behind the chair are even more minis in various states of assembly. I tend to float from army to army, but right now I am making an honest effort to assemble and paint my Pre-Heresy Emperor's Children Legion (that's what is in the Battlefoam case). By the way, on that shelf to the left by the window, if you look close you'll see a cookie sheet full of resin. That's my Legion Glaive that I've finally worked up the courage to assemble. Although, now that i finally unpacked it after letting it sit for several months, it doesn't look too bad. I'm still nervous about the Storm Eagle I have, though.

Spoiler:

Anyway, that is about 90% of my Pile of Shame. I've got several army transports in a closet that also contain unpainted stuff, too.

Perhaps not, but since GW seems to subsist off sadness and pain, I can't rule it out.

I love seeing stuff like this.

If I count by storage containers, my unbuilt stuff breaks down roughly like this:
- 1 container of 40k
- 1/2 container of WFB
- 1/2 container of misc. GW
- 1 container of GunPla
- 1 container of scale models
Something like that.

Define storage containers.

Haha, no.

Though, if we are talking about 10x10' storage units, I know someone who might be approaching that scale.

In my case, we're talking things more like this:

Pile of shame? Nope, not me. I have a room of shame

I have poor impulse control, vastly over-active imagination in regards to 'plans', little grasp of reality and have been collecting on and off for a bit over three decades.....I might be able to scrounge up around a hundred finished pieces if I try really, really hard.

To stay on topic, I think everything of mine is at least assembled with the exception of perhaps 5-10 sprues of stuff. I actively liquidate stuff that doesn't get assembled after too long.

I love these kinda of confession threads. They remind me of what I might become the next time I decide to "just buy this one unit, it's essential to my army list" before I have the primed stuff painted...

But hey, I'm guilty too. About half my stuff is only primed!

I'm just glad I basically stopped buying GW stuff, so the pile hasn't gotten appreciably larger over the years.

And selling the occasional item has been good to further shrink the pile.

Now, just need to work on more stuff this year.

You are a future me, or i am a past you. You have me down to a T, minus the three decades. Make that 3 years and thats me. I have barely even finished my first ork army (less than 1500 pts fully painted to my standard) yet I have enough CWE/DE on sprues to make a 2000k army easily. what i need is an army of minions who love to paint and base.... as i love to convert, dont mind painting or basing.... but given the choice..... i just start kitbashing

as it is 2 am, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to grab some pictures of our pile of shame.

It's roughly 1 corner of the living room.

(shared)
It includes 1 complete realm of battle city table (I will probably be the one who paints this, however)
space hulk (I will also probably be the person who paints this, cut out from sprues, not glued)

Fiance's (unpainted, unprimed)
Nagash
Morghasts
Logan Grimnar (which he bought because he thought he would be a neat model to paint, no less!)
a FW wraithknight conversion (conversion not completed)
3 DE HQ's
4 terrain pieces

(primed)
1 militarum tempestus box (painting in progress, since it's for the upcoming store campaign)
DE slave girls
taurox prime
1 more box of MT
DE incubi,
DE warriors
4 talos

stuff he needs to fix and repaint
3 raiders
9 jetbikes

mine
(unassembled)
a couple of terrain pieces
an old ork battleforce box
a swarmlord
2 deathstorm boxes
1.5 stormclaw boxes
1 flash gitz big box (most of)
1/2 of a stompa (primed)
3/4 of a deffkoptas force (conversion)
some deff dreds

partially assembled and waiting for paint
1 meganobz
1 imperial knight (some kitbashing required)
2 boxes of boyz
0.5 stormclaw boxes
3 ork HQ's
1 flyrant (some kitbashing required)
1 battlewagon (paintjob almost finished)
one swarm box

And the boardgame zombie models that I originally walked into a GW store looking for storage for which got me actively asking about the hobby in the first place.....don't count.

We have to inventory the list? The last time I did a detailed inventory, I found out I had 30% more Guard Infantry than I had previously estimated. Oops.

ok...Technically this is almost all of our warhammer stuff in one corner (along with some dvd's and books)...

(My fiance was in the middle of painting his MT big box at the time)

The list I posted is a better reflection of the grey horde.

Most of the boxes stored directly under the table are bits that haven't been clipped off the sprues.
