Dreads w MM work great out of a storm raven with some purifiers. Gonna need to be a high point level to make it work because you need other elements in place to run a good amount of your force in reserve.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

The fact is a dreadnought puts out minimal shots for their points cost. Off the top of my head almost every army has a better option then the dreadnought point for point.

The Dreadknight is better in virtually everyway and therefore you take them instead. Why would you set yourself up to lose? Not only in 40k but in sports, all games and life in general.

And at sgtpozy. My friend Paul, The number one player in the country in the ITC currently..... He plays Tau.

Plasma baby - bang, bang, bang, bang - Dead. That's it. Grav does the same thing. I'm not going to pretend they're not powerful though. They are. That doesn't mean that dreadnoughts don't suck though. Because they do. I sincerely wish they did not suck, but - sadly - they do.

Anyone feel like we're going to get some crazy dreadnought data slate one of these days to make them playable? Yeah. Probably just wishlisting.

Yes, in your country but I'm not in 'Murica. He's the best player, but that has nothing to do with the army. I can be a better Blood Angels player than Bob over there who plays Wave Serpent spam so army doesn't really impact skill.

Also, does he play any other army?

I dunno GW just wants the 'noughts we own to rust away before they sell more. They just need more attacks base... or a higher Initiative, they need to be this assault monster but they aren't.

Yes, there is a lot that can kill a Dreadknight... But that's the same for everything. Even Wave Serpents die easily to the Spartan tank from FW and assaults with krak grenades, but they're still OP.

Dreadnoughts are made of plastic and plastic doesn't rust... Just letting you know.

At sgtpozy I am in America. Not murica*? Are you being rude or just ignorant. Are you purposely disrespecting the country I live in, the current world power? I am agreeing with most people in this topic you are acting immature and most of your post bring absolutely nothing to this thread.

On topic, one on the only successful uses I have seen in a dreadnought this edition is tying up a unit like hounds or knorne or a blob without grenades for an entire game at times.

Just ignore pozy. He's nothing more than a troll with a personal vendetta against GKs.

I'm not holding my breath, GW has only once been able to make vanilla dreads look awesome from 3-7th editions, and it took giving them ability to have two TLACs with psybolt ammo.

That they had to turn around and kill with the next codex.

One good benefit of a dreadnought is to equip them as mortis dreads from FW. Dual autocannon or dual lascannons.

They get sky fire if they don't move a turn. So it uses up two battlefield roles for the price of one. Put him in a ruins with bolster defenses and it ups his survivability a little bit.

Can pic off land and air targets.

Pretty sure GKs can't take Mortis dreadnoughts.

It's also not what I'd consider to be a vanilla dread

If we could take that or contemptors we'd play the crap out of them to be sure. Contemptors are amazing.
