Hi,
Here is something from Lexicanum:
These Ork traits manifest in the form of the strong, belligerent, and indestructible Ork gods Gork and Mork. The difference between the two gods is very subtle: one of them is brutally cunning and the other is cunningly brutal. The Orks often disagree which is which, and they sometimes fight wars over this matter.

What is the difference between Brutally cunning and cunningly brutal? or are they the same thing?

INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!

Brutally cunning is hitting you hard with a big stick and then stealing your loot.
Cunningly brutal is shouting "Look, Heresy!" and bashing you with a big fist while you ain't looking. Then stealing your loot.

Brutally kunning smashes you in the head when you aren't looking. Kunningly brutal smashes you in the head when you are.

More recent Ork fluff makes/retcons it to be more clear that Brutally Kunning is for the more intellectual orks like Kommandos and Meks and Wierd boys (and more commonly associated with Mork) while Kunningly Brutal is for the more upfront orks (and more commonly associated with Gork)

Eptymology-wise, it's probably akin to the difference between brutally smart (IE, a merciless genius or sharp intellect) or cunningly brutal (IE, a very sharp physical power, mercilessly brutal, or something that punches you so hard you say "Ow, that smarts!"))

I"m gonna disagree.

Cunningly Brutal is putting a quarter on the ground, and kicking somebody in the janglies when they bend over to pick it up.

Brutally Cunning is doing the same thing, except you glue down the quarter.

The second may seem better, but the Cunningly Brutal guy doesn't have to wait for the glue to dry, so he can kick more people, even though he loses money on each one.

The difference is apparently:

One will hit you when you're not looking or with some other unexpected tactic and or put more than a moment's thought into the Krumpin (Supposedly Mork, but quite possibly Gork).

The other will hit you harder when you are looking and just get straight to the Krumpin (Probably Gork, but possibly Mork).

Apparently the new Ork unit's may shed some light on the subject of which is which and the (possible) subtle differences

Pretty sure the latest ork codex flat out states that Mork is more commonly associated with the brutally kunning guys like meks and commandos. Either that or it's the latest Ork campaign. I forget which.

Tell you what, there's potential for possibly the best BL novella of all time here...Picture the scene:

It's the ultimate test, at least for the next one, between the Kunnin' Brutality of Mork (or perhaps Gork) and the Brutal Kunnin' of Gork (or possibly Mork). Desperate to prove their chosen deity is better, two young Ork Boyz venture underkover into the depths of an Imperial Hive, armed only with a hundred Teef, their brick-sharp intellect and fists that could knock a man to the ground, if they ever stopped punching each other. With just one rotation before the Wierdboy proclaim's the Waaaagh's allegience until they next decide to change it, the Boyz are set a single task in the name of their Gods: one day, no weapons, and as many 'umies kicked in the 'urty bitz as possible.

With no holds barred, and no bars held, the Boyz head off into the unknown. What happened next, no one could ever have forseen, although many, many certainly found out and lived to regret it. Read the full enlightening, inspiring and downright hilarious tale in "The Kunnin' (but Brutal), The Brutal (but Kunnin') and the Ugly (No arguments here)...

Available now from Black Library, priced at only £4000, $Eleventy-Squillion AUS, or your firstborn child's hamster.

The classic scene where an ork sheriff and an ork bandit are standing silently in front of each other 30 feet away. Than the tumblesquig rolls between them and the two start shooting sluggas at each other. They shoot and shoot. SLUG SLUG SLUG *click* *click*...And still stand unharmed. Ork BS.
