Long-Range Land Speeder Pilot

The Casternall worlds history begins with the coming of the IV legion. Though the worlds were developed by the normal standards of the Long Night they had little in the way of co-operation. The Imperial Host, lead by Warsmith Toraregokk of the 145th Grand Company stripped the worlds of their armed forces, there waring factions and the sense of self rule in a series of utterly brutal assaults that left over three million dead. In the face of such overwhelming force even the most rebelious faction's will broke. The rebuilding process began in earnest and within six months the entire regions infastructure has been rebuit, improved. Works from all worlds were moved en mass to other regions, populations were mixed wholesale and almost none of the pre-imperial identity remained.
So it was for the seventy years before the outbreak of the Horus Heresy theystood as a monument to the great crusade. Seven star systems working as a single unbroken organism of imperial truth. The worlds were capable of breeding high quality solider stock, excessive food production and high quantities of munitions and Armour. When its most famous sons threw in there lot with Horus it forever tarnished the as the breeder worlds of traitors. The worlds themselves remained loyal and supplied many of the foes of Horus with munitions and food stocks. They even stood against those traitor army hosts who were sent to secure its resources.
For the ten thousand years that followed the Casternall worlds proved time and time against to be a foe to the Emperors enemies. However they never truely saw themselves as being free of 'a taint'. Inquisitors from all ordo's heard the term being used and regularly hunted for chaos cults. Even the most radical of their ilk to visit the world found that all but a handful truely were loyal to the Emperor.
So when the 13th Black Crusade came it was a shock when the entire Casternall worlds, as one, turned from the emperor and sided with chaos. Little did the Imperium know the IV legion had returned to reclaim what it has built...
----------------------------------------------------------
So lets begin in proper. It's time for this log to finally begin. I want 30k allied imerial army force. I also want to have flyers... and tanks... and 40k IG stuff. So basically i need an army that can be fielded in two systems with four different source books. So why bother making four armies when i can make one horde of chaos in the truest style of the Eye of Terror codex. It really does give me creative free reign...
The first model of this army (since i've got huge amounts of infantry to do) is in fact a Thunderbolt, part of my 30k force and my 40k air army.
[Imgur]( http://i.imgur.com/7Uft2oY.jpg)
it's going to be a lot of work but hopefully it can keep me from binge buying more armies than i can handle...

Great colour scheme on that fighter, I look forward to seeing more of the horde. My 30K is rusty though, which legion is the IV?

i Eh.... i bought two. this is the second one of my titans i've finally got around to building. it's twin resides with my zoican armour.
So today represents my last evening of freedom before i set off for the Horus Heresy Weekender. I've decided to finish the test model for my infantry and added some details to the thunderbolt. Sometimes it's little details that truely capture your imagination as a painter....
Now for the grainy photo's of the model that make it look uber-clashy. Still, the basics work in person so once i have the unit done it should work a bit better infront of a camera.
And of course the other thunderbolt pics;
any opinions?

It all looks really good, one thing I would suggest though with the hand print. Usually there is a blank spot where the skin doesn't contact the surface it is hitting otherwise that is about it.

Yeah it's actually on my hobby blog, Nerdbydesign. Link; here. thanks though mate for the feedback! Now for something new....
Nârik Dreygur of the IV legion.
After some long term debate about how i will pursue my iron warriors i have settled upon an idea. I am quite happy with the way the metal work has gone though i need to touch up the hazard stripes before i can call him truely complete.
An update with his body guard will follow in the coming days, possibly a week. until then, what do we think?

Awesome stuff there mate. Not really liking the dead Imperial Fists but it's just the way it is Iron Warriors and Imperial Fists will never get along .
I really like how the Iron Hands scheme is on the model. The Metals are awesome and after some touch up on the stripes he is good to go.
That is some nice stuff from the weekender. Have fun with it.
Keep up the good work mate.

Now, basically i'm an iron warrior to my core. Everything about my work has been leading up to developing my own part of the IV legion and i think i am finally there. However despite the fact it's imperial fist fan fiction i always liked the battle of phall, and so i'm developing it as part of my basing theme and another two sections of the project.
So lighting stepping past what is to come, let's begin with what's i've managed to finish. I have a shipment of iron warriors somewhere in the royal mail awaiting delivery but since it won't be today i've done some base work instead.
Here's is what i've done;
Hopefully i'll have more to show soon..

Phall update; It's got a lot going on in this post.
It's time to reveal my loyalist model, the paint in progress pollux;
And for my actual army i've nearly finished two models. As i'm waiting on a delivery tomorrow of legion goodies i've decided to keep this update out of the lighting box. Can't wait to build and paint my core legion forces however;
Update, i hope, will come soon.

The knight's going to run with all of my armies, but it may well see service with the IV legion.
Now for an update after some time in the wild. I have moved my first 10 marines on the 32mm bases and i'm happy with the result.
I might have a pop at painting them this weekend.

32mm looks so much bigger! I'm waiting to transfer my marines onto larger bases, and seeing those makes me want to do it sooner, rather than later.
Your basing is simple, but effective.

Thanks man, my phall theme is about achieving the balance between theme and practicality. I want to make scenic bases that don't over complicate the living hell out of painting.
Now.... been a small development on my workbench.

Not sure when i'll get to the possesed. They are one of those mini's i want to save for when i'm in the mood to do some really complex and detailed work.
So would we like some more IV legion? I've finished the two rhinos, got the bulk of my typhon done and started some other stuff...
and the very PIP part of this update...
I'm pretty chuffed with how its all coming along so far.
