The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Interesting, will be heading up there at some point to see how it changed.. I hope that is adding two stores in other parts of the 'Square' and not just chopping up the current one to a shared space.

IIRC they've swiped some of the hall area to make the new stores.

It does look like quite an increase in store space. Does Black Library have enough stuff to justify a space that big?

More interesting is that the bulk of the exhibition rooms are only accessible through the store.

Shame about the timing, I'd have totally dragged my friends down there for a nerdy stag do.

I believe so. Most of the additional event rooms will probably not be available to the public, but I can't see them charging to access the rest of it.

Wow, the new larger, glass enclosed store area really fits in well with the rest of the "castle" style of the gaming hall... oh, wait... no it doesn't

Crossover post from the BL thread :

This pic is the cover for/from "Meduson" , which will only be available from the Warhammer World BL store.

Whilst stocks last.

One doubts this will be the last such release either.

Chatter from the HH weekender is that there will be 500 or so tickets ( presumably for each day) made available for the grand (re)opening.

I await dataslates, formations etc etc that you can only download from special GW terminals* inside their stores on their very own intranet with bated breath.

* And by special one means even more special than the ones they have now. These ones will not only look like something from the 41stM but will be about as effective and mainly use 5 inch floppys.

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Why would they? They've closed battle bunkers, manufacturing facilities, warehouses and moved one-man shops to off-traffic areas everywhere else in the US. Why would they open a money-sink like Warhammer World when they're reducing their corporate footprint in every other capacity and their corporate balance sheet is bleeding?

Yeah, I'll change my name to Buzzkillington now.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Hopefully there will be enough local members willing to buy Lenton-only items and send them to others for postage costs, rather than ramming them on eBay for a 300% markup. I can certainly do that when I'm next in gaming (August).

and with many thanks to Mr Shaggy from the Bolthole an update about Medusason

A bit of expansion on "Meduson"...

Only available to buy from the new BL shop at Warhammer World - at least for the first (numbered, limited edition) release. No web purchases etc - only in person over the counter. Once they've done the grand re-opening thing in May (apparently there will be 3 permanent stores there - Black Library, Forge World and standard GW).

Laurie Goulding did specifically say that "Meduson" will be made available on a general release at some point in the future.

He has also stated (more than once) that all Black Library content will (eventually) appear in all formats... so e-books in print, print in e-format, audio in print (and I am guessing in e-format as well?) and that all Horus Heresy content will eventually be released in print in number format (as per the novels).
