Anybody sad that Deathmarks got nerfed?

They got 1 point cheaper, but went from being able to wound (both in shooting and in close combat) one particular enemy unit for the duration of the game on a 2+, to only wounding on 2+ during the turn they arrive from deepstrike.

They did gain the ability to shoot during the opponent's turn however, but only at the enemy unit that arrived from deepstrike, which is usually not something you want to train snipers at, as these usually take care of MCs.

So now, Deathmarks are basically Sniper Scouts with BS4, reanimation protocols, rapid fire sniper rifles, deep strike and some fancy rule that dont really do much in the game, for 6 points more per model.

You don't like being able to ventilate a Melta Squad the moment they leave their drop pod?

That said it's really not that much of a nerf: Your standard five man squad was likely to get killed next turn anyhow.

They can shoot at ANYTHING that arrives from reserves that phase.

True, but an enemy unit still has to come in from Deep Strike Reserve in order to trigger Ethereal Interception to begin with.

I have such a hard time taking your complaint serious because of this part.

What you're saying: "I'm mad because they changed X to be the same as Y except for all these things that are different."

following your logic, riptides are basicly exocrines wih a 2+ armor save, jetpack and 5+ invul save.

You don't have to be happy when you lose, just don't make winning the condition of your happiness.

It kind of sucks that it's only units arriving from reserve. If you go first, you will probably arrive with no targets. Lame.
That said, their new "interceptor" method has some decent uses. They are also still a fairly durable platform with a nice gun. I never think of my Deathmarks as units that will win the game but they will screw around with what my opponent is doing.

Not nerfed at all in my area drop pods are a thing used some today stern squad dropped in to try to melt my stalker intercepted and killed all the meltas in the squad. To me thats a win and as you cant shoot next turn charge them at what remains as there basicaly marines with a lower init and rapid sniper rifles. An excelent unit in my area.

Umm, the Interceptor rule fits their fluf moreso than it did, and the only wounding on a 2+ the turn they come in was an expected change, at least for me. It removes a lot of the cheese with them. Plus, if you use them like you used to, they'll still kill a Wraithknight in one go. You just have more options with them.

Honestly I think that Deathmarks got fixed. Their rule fits the fluff and they can't do abuse their rule like they used to. The loss of the Despairatek has gotten rid of the 2+ template thing too.

Yes, it softened them a bit in other ways, but they do their job properly now and I'm okay with that.

A new day, a new time zone.

Yeah, instead of 'nerfed' the proper word is 'fixed.' They were massively abuseable before, but now they're good, but them and a teleporting cryptek isn't a no-brainer.
