Just some pictures of an easy mod to a old Russ tank i had to make it into a Forge World "Destroyer tank Hunter".
Barrel = pen body
Rest was mod from plasticraft board and old parts.
Went for a kinda Stug IV look form wwII with spaced armor
What you guys think?

The concept is pretty good. I did something similar with a retrieved Ebay russ. I think the interface between the cannon and the gun mount is a bit clumsy though. Maybe look up some real tank destroyer mounts and see if you can make it look a bit more sophisticated. Either a nivce rounded mantle plate or a fabric dust cover to protect the movable bits of the mount. Currently it looks like something rigidly welded onto the front plate of the tank, which isnt how it should work. If its still WIP then feel free to ignore me

Most cannon mount armor is circular, but i preferred the square look. its preference. Also it still fully moves left/right (converted laszannon) so its not like i just glued it square on.

The Ruskies had a tank killer that could only move elevation, it's traverse was the tracks. I can't for the life of me remember what it's designator was though

That barrel is ridiculously long. Just measuring range from that thing would be mildly considered modelling for advantage. And when I say "mildly," what I really mean is "OMGWTF, your gun barrel arrives two turns before your vehicle does from reserves..." j/k
But seriously, that barrel is too long. John Holmes long.

Yeah it seems to be atleast double if not treble the length it should be. I'd give it a bit of a trim or expect over compensating jokes every time you whip it out.

Good tip, i will prob trim off 2 inches or so then. I was just eyeballing it off the picture of the real one and it looks at least like 3-5in.

The fluff pics put the turbolaser about as long as the point on the front of the russ track assembly to the back edge of the second storage door.

The barrel is a tad too huge, trim not hurt.
Also maybe beaf up the mounting. Looks abit light for such a huge gun and barrel. It does not look quite right just now
