Would you play a 40k version of Company of Heroes? If so, what faction should be playable and what features would you like to see in the game?

Didn't DoW2 have a lot in common with CoH?

Sorta. DoW2 was more of a simplified version of CoH with a 40k skin. Don't get me wrong. I still liked the game. However, I'm talking about a game that's as complex as CoH2 but with a 40k feel.

I'd love to play guard in a hive city. Using a blown out Leman Russ as cover against a group of Lootas shooting death down from an Imperial church would be crazy fun. The notion of hiding inside vehicles and buildings during dust storms would be awesome.

This came about after facing a game with against two tough bots. I was had each checkpoint defended and I was close to winning when the enemy used a lot of armor to push me off my objectives. In order to save my men, I had to break and retreat. I restocked and attacked again but by then the enemy had fortified my position and were dug in hard. I had to use artillery to dislodge the opponents and I took a lot of casualties from the tanks. However, I was able to force them to break and reclaim the objectives. Because the game was so close, it came down to a narrow victory at a cost as I lost a TON of men before I was able to pull my armor to the front to repel what was a desperate push.
During the entire time I was playing this, I couldn't help but think "this would be awesome if it was guard vs orks." The destruction of buildings, morale, weather, abilities that can be called on, and the overall feel of city fights like that would translate really well in a Warhammer environment.

I'd also like to see a Total War 40k but that's probably not likely, and one can only dream of Total War - Horus Heresy...

It's called Dawn of War. The first game had ass balance (see http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Dawn_of_Eldar for a funny compilation of the silliness) but an infinite number of mods exist to correct that, the second game had a groundbreaking and incredibly awesome campaign but multiplayer suffered from the exact same problems that made CoH2 bad.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Was there ever a "turn based" mod for Dawn of War, by any chance?

I'm terrible at the real-time, part of RTS games, but really did want to play DoW.

Eldar being the best in something 40k related, I've never seen that before.
