I was looking through my Chaos Space Marine Codex wanting to create a list that was assisted by summoning daemons. After I looked through it I noticed that not even sorcerers can summon daemons limited to only 3 disciplines not including the one that was needed... So am I correct in saying that CHAOS Space Marines are unable to summon daemons on their own? You know the guys who open portals to the warp all the time in the warp to summon those very daemons in the lore? Please Chaos Gods tell me I am incorrect and I'm just overlooking something in the codex or at the very least let there be a forgeworld model that can summon daemons (Something CULTISTS should be able to do).

Read your FAQ. That codex was released prior to the introduction of Daemonology.

You don't understand how happy I am I literally jumped so far as to trip over a chaos land raider box and land square on my spine only recovering now to speak thanks for all of the help! I just found the FAQ and am in the process of finding a model to be the red prophet! I am pretty new and didn't even know such a thing existed. P.S. The land raider is fine

The relic. it literally makes the IC carrying it a possessed, with all their special nitbits, except with his buffed status and his own abilities intact ofc.

However, the downside is rather negated, given that CrSl got troop possessed with a better table (mostly defensive boosts and 1/3 for a speed boost), so they make a good escort for summonsorcerers anyway.

They really screwed the pooch by not adding a simple rule in the FAQs.

Something like:

"Psykers with a Daemon mark only suffer Perils of the Warp on double-6s when summoning Daemons of the same Chaos God."

We house-ruled that in within a week of 7th Ed. Release.

Daemons only peril on a double 6 when casting ANY malefic deamology spell, were all summoning spells origin to begin with.

Its right there in the rulebook.

That's why I am having a hard time accepting any resonse on dakka on the power level of stuff. so many people don't actually know the fine points of the rules, yet the complain about them being wrong...

Uh, he is referring to psykers with a mark, not with 'Daemon of X'.

You do know what a mark is, right?

I think he meant Chaos mark, instead of Daemon mark. Some help for low level CSMs sorcerers?

Too bad that's still not help summoning Khorne...

Yes, this is what I meant, sorry for the confusion.

So...a Sorcerer with a Mark of Slaneesh should be able to summon Slanneesh Daemons and only hit PoW on a 66, and that's hjow our houserule works.

Sorry, Khorne...no help from our houserule!

Add in Spell Familiar, and you could have a cheap/powerful Demon Factory for only a handful of points. Wow, that'd be powerfull.
