I'm thinking about getting this fine fellow:

and converting it into a counts-as chaos reaver titan. Partly as a joke about the whole dinobot look of the Mauler/Forgefiends.

It'll be same height as a reaver, but a fair bit longer, so I don't think it'd have any MFA. I'd base it, probably with a partially eaten rhino.

However is this going too far?
Would you refuse to play a converted, painted Grimlock of the Apocalypse?

Put spikes all over it, keep it in bi-ped form and paint it red, black and brass with Khorne symbols all over it, and I'd be fine with it.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

I would use it as a Brass Scorpion.
But just make it look cool.

this is where i would draw the line. toys used to proxy uber powerful units just dont work.

in some rare cases some very talanted modellers have used such things to make amazing new creations, but as a rule this is just bad taste.

half the fun as a reaver is the 2 week assembly time.

Ehh, I don't think it'd be that good. I think you'd have to do a lot of conversion on it. Your choice, but I think you could find better things to use instead.

I would play a game with you but only if it chomped my guardsmen in dino mode.

In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there are only T-shirts and and khaki cargo shorts!

Despite being called 'Chomp and Stomp' I don't think it has a chomp OR stomp function

Can't say I'm a fan of it. I mean, it is your game and it all comes down to your opponents, but I personally would not be cool with a toy on a base.

Yeah... if we start mixing toy robots in with our toy soldiers, where does it end?

Well provided it's tall enough, and you got a bunch of Chaos-y bits lying around to convert it, plus you have a pair of expertly hands for green-stuffing and painting, it might work.

The problem I might have with your dino-titan is that it's just to... cartoony, I mean, it is a cartoon character. 40K has a... different look, maybe a bit cartoon, but is utterly different aesthetically from Transformers.

You can try converting it, and upload a photo of your work; I'd like to see just how Chaosy it is then make up my mind. Just mind that some people might be okay with whatever proxy you use and some demand strictly GW or FW products.

Yeah, the plan would be to chaos it up with plastic chains, green stuff horns, add more detail.

But yes I'm still not sure if it's going too far, and even if it was chaos'd up whether it would fit. Still on the fence.

Thanks for everyone's opinions, by the way

I say go for it! Though I think it looks better in beast form.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

Excellent idea!

It looks chaosy as it is, you wouldn't even need to put bits on it.

I say go for it. All the titans look like transformers anyway.

Given a suitable conversion and paint job, I think it would be awesome!

Yeah, so long as you're willing to put some effort into making it fit - which it sounds like you're more than willing to do - I think it would be awesome. Especially with the half-devoured tank.

Give us pictures when it's done, please!

After GW turned parts of the Chaos force into Decepticons, sure, why the Hell not. I'm not a fan of it, but I wouldn't stop you.
