Thanks so much guys! I'm glad you enjoyed them so much. I really enjoyed the LVO Friendly, and highly recommend it to anyone in the area who wants a more laid back event. Longer games, more themed lists, and absolutely wonderful hobbyist to meet and hang out with!

Well it's certainly inspired me to finish painting my Dread Mob (which is also quite rusty ).
Might even take them to a Tournament if they're as fun to play as they look.

Friendddddly tournament. I do not think they would do very well in competitive meta. They don't have the speed, or the resilience to stand up to lists designed to wipe out flyrants and wave serpents.

I played vs an ultra competitive list which included a revanant titan, I was tabled by turn 3. (that bat rep will be up eventually). I imagine the same would occur with a lynx.

Well my last tournament I had quite a competitive list (tabled a Reaver list turn 3, tankbustas FTW ). So I'm quite happy to take a fun list just for a laugh.
Thinking something like GW's own Throne of Skulls tournament, where lists, painting and Best Game votes are just as important as winning games.

They eliminated the kustom stompa from LVO. You could either run the big mek, or the normal codex one. I really wanted to make the super dakka one (with all the crazy 9d6 stuff). I'm really hoping the new Vol2 of IA8 gives us some point adjustments and fleshes some things out!

Painting was 1/3 the score of LVO's friendly, which is why I ended up middle of the pack at 17th place!

I wish I had more buddy...I'm really hopping they drop points just a smidge on the ork mega walkers...then I'll be able to put mega nobz in my gorkanauts for maximum fun at nova.

Nova list is looking something like this.

Dread mob (with one gork, one mork). Kans with rokkits, deff dreads with skorcha's.

Big Mek in Dread mob in Mega armor.

Main CaD
Warboss in mega armor with lucky stix

two squads of grots

3x mega nobz

Mega dread
Meka Dread
Deff Dread with 2x powerclaws


(Three mega nobz go into gork), maw, ma big mek, and painboy in the other).

Doesn't fit yet. Still fidgeting, but that is what I'd like to fit in 2k

Aye, a points drop somewhere would be great! Although if the book is good enough I might be able to drop the Formation and just have Dread Mob detachments (I don't really do unbound).

I'm looking at Dread Mob formation with Dread Mob detachment, with Meka as HQ.

Struggling to squeeze points for the Junka with Turret-mounted Shokk-Attack... because it's just too cool!

I don't think Nova or LVO allowed FW detachments or lists, so I never took a look at them. So many fun FW things in that book.

I had to do unbound just because I wanted to run a stompa...if you take dread mob AND a stompa, its 2005 points...just over.

Drop the stompa, you can take the dread mob again and fill up heavy slots with more dread goodness!

When you come up with a final list, please do share!

This was an excellent test game of the walkers before LVO, and put me in the proper mindset for moving a bunch of really slow objectives across the table.

And ya zombie, this was pretty much a worse case scenario for me. Just in raw points, he had to just wipe out half my army to win by default. I used it as more practice for moving and interacting with my army. The more I play it, the better I get at it!

Well my gaming group is finally started add a bit more Maelstrom, so I'm thinking of a more Detachment based force rather than the formation.
This will allow me to lump the Deffdreads into one unit, lead by the Meka Dread Warlord (and be ObjSec).

Still a lot to finish on the Meka (sorry for the bad photo), but you might appreciate it

Such a great model, all those little details just take an age to finish, but will be worth it. Will try and take some decent photos when done (or better yet, get someone who knows howe to use a camera to do it!).

Grendel083...I have one of those guys on order. Can't wait to get him. Both him and the mega dread look like they could take months to finish. I'm actually hoping to enter a competition mega dread at NOVA, we will see how I get along with it. Got a lot of months, but that's a lot of work (and I'm REALLY slow).

Loving that baby blue style lenses with the yellow....hmmm might be looting that!

Loved the LVO reports, always happy to read fun 40k reports between cool armies The throwdown with the chaos walkers was particularly awesome, and reminds me I should think about getting back to my swarm of chaos dreads, because mayhem.

How do you think, do ork walkers have a place in a footslogging horde list?

The issue with walkers in a foot slogging list...is they are much slower then the orks themselves. By default, ork walkers do not have ere we go, and thus can not waaagh, nor can they reroll a charge dice. They are also vehicles, so can't benefit from warlord traits which allow infiltrating (everyones favorite on the strategic chart).

To speed the walkers up, you'd have to take the dread mob formation, and then you'd have a lot less foot slogging troops to handle the causalities. The only thing the walker list has going for it, is that it mainly ignores LD manipulation, and str 5 and less. If you introduce boyz into that equation, every enemy gun and ability has a target.

While play testing the Dread Mob Formation, the bonus of having 'Ere We Go! on the walkers is just golden
