Honestly some moderately sized platforms for either the spacecraft or the boxes to go on top of wouldn't be amiss here.
Then you could definitely do some portable walkways between them. I have a giant three piece crane that raises and lowers (and breaks into four pieces for storage) for moving the cargo.

So the Dakka Jet kit, back in action!
WIP Imperial Guard Warthog
WIP F-86 Sabre
I already have more than enough Dakka Jet conversions but this idea came to mind and I had to try it!

Question for the masses, anyone have an interest in 2 boxes of micl Dakkajet bitz I've gathered before I put them up for sale?
No hulls or wings but guns and lots of ork things to add to a scratch build.
Better pics to come

They fly now? They fly now. Really tempted now to do just ONE MORE so I can have a Cobra Rattler. But then I'd need to make a skystriker too... Automatically Appended Next Post:

Starting the next big project, a knight Dominus, tentatively named Arx Ambulans
Not that hard a kit to build, though I had to cut off the leg tabs to make them work.
And for once I remembered to leave it in sub assemblies for painting.
Now the question is what am I supposed to do with 1/3 of a Knight?
Anyone found anything interesting?

Got some paint on Beta XVII Arx Ambulous (B-17 Walking Fortress to you and me), needs more of course but going for a WWII bomber on legs look.

WOW, those are big kits.
Wait until the next quarterly report from GW when they mention that revenue is up because of Kid Kyoto!
It all looks dead killy too!

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.
I build IG...lots and lots of IG. |

(reprinted from the toy thread)
My long-overdue Daiso wrap up.
To review Daiso is a chain of 100 yen (~$1) shops across Japan which sometimes have a line of robot display bases and other miniatures items in their home decor (not toy) section. I also found the mecha line in a chain of hobby shops called Volks. And yes, everything here was 100 yen.
They also have shops in the US and Hong Kong, maybe more that I just don't know off the top of my head.
Not seen any of this in their US stores or online but who knows.
First off some nice and easy pipes, sold in sets of 3. 2 are attached, the 3rd can be removed (good for painting!). Aobut 2" tall, 3 1/2" long. Nice scatter terrain for any industrial table.
Then some tin shipping containers and a railroad flatbed for them. So 300 yen. The tins open so you can put, I dunno, an objective marker in there.
About 10"x3" tall.
I wasn't too impressed with these girder/gantry sets, but they're not terrible either. And you get 3 girders plus clips for 100 yen, so again, no great loss.
But the real winners are these connectable display bases, roughly 7"x4"x4" and they assemble and connect without glue. The back are not detailed but you can always put two of them back to back.
They stack and connect for more elaborate displays, and the front framework is optional. You could put a whole action figure collection on these for under $10. I got like ten of them.
The cranes on these are also 100 yen, and come with metal chains made of real metal hot from the forge.
The engineering on these (except for the girders) is superb, everything goes together with no glue and comes apart for storage. Great, great buys, I cannot recommend enough.
I mean if you happen to be in Japan.

Those are nice finds, I think those girders look super useful.
I tried to find them on Daiso's online store earlier today, but it looks like what they offer online is limited.

Some more upcoming fighters.
F-16 just waiting for my missiles to arrive (the ones I have are all too small for the wingtips)
And an F-14 attempt, from an airframe of unknown origin.
Note the Ordo Xenos symbol and purity seal for anyone with doubts about its origins.
