The codex is extremely well internally balanced, and even with the Decurion someone taking the same thing every time is simply showing lack of imagination (or lack of models!).

The Triarch Stalker, a unit not designed for close combat, is not good in close combat! You don't say?

Now you're gonna tell me that Fire Warriors aren't good in close combat either or some nonsense like that.

except its not particularly good at shooting either, or anything else for that matter. heavy destroyers are a way better use of your points.

If the stalker had a dread CCW it would be a viable option instead of being obsolete trash.

The Decurion spam can be annoying, but I will fight Crons any time over Tau. Feth Tau.

Im curious why youd rather fight Crons than Tau. Considering Necron destroyers are outright better than Tau Crisis suits now (especially with destroyer cult). I think Crons in general are a better army too.

Because the Destroyer Cult still lets you take cover saves.

People who say "x is absolute trash" come across as extremely arrogant, and such comments tends to shut down conversation, as it evokes an "f. you" response in your interlocutor. Just a bit of advice.

The Stalker (or Stalkers, if taken in a squadron) are a support unit, increasing the BS of large sections of the army (and thus their damage output by 25% in most cases), and/or, in the Judicator Battalion. greatly increasing the effectiveness of its accompanying Triarchs.

That you are assessing its value based purely on its own damage-output potential tells me that you have not examined how the army is designed to function or how the codex is internally constructed.

Exalted for truth.

Agreed. I've played numerous types of lists so far, never playing the same list twice in a row and have had both great success and great fun with it. Then again, I do now own at least one of everything in the codex.

Except the targeting array did factor into my assessment. even with the targeting array its simply not worth the points.

The fact the stalker can be tied up so easily in close combat and killed so easily by a single melta shot makes it unappealing to me even as a support piece. especially since heavy destroyers got such a massive buff.

Besides we have a couple other ways to increase the accuracy of our shooting that dont involve taking a clunky oversized and overcosted model.

yeah but with preferred enemy and extermination protocols the destroyer cult hits and wounds much more often. statistically thats just as good as ignoring cover saves. theyre still better than crisis suits IMO.

I personally dont find tau nearly as threatening in 7th edition. Losing space marines as battle brothers seems to have hurt them a lot.

Have you met the majority of Necron players? If not, what is it to you on how they play? How are they affecting you if you never play them? Again why do people feel the need to tell other people how the game should be played and what to do?

What if someone told you that you should be playing Decurion formation and you are playing wrong for not doing so? What is boring to you, is not boring to other players. After all I am sure the majority of the world will say you are playing a boring toy soldier game.

Let people play the way the want. You will not see most of them and they will not effect you in any way on how they play. Let everyone have their own fun and enjoy.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?
