Yep, I'm pretty certain that'd do it!! Get him standing on someone's head and you'll probably have maxed out the "ARD AS NAILS" look

When is comes to variations on the theme I feel like a good back story can sell most anything. If your explanation how you mini fits the theme is crap, then shame on you.

As someone said, you can vary anything to fit most anything. A veteran ork need not be a veteran himself, he could be wearing bits and pieces of say a DeathWing armour as a disguise. And since deathwing are very much veterans... Tada! Theme fullfilled.

But I did an Ork in SM armour last month...

I think we should all add a small background info sentence or two for our models. So we can somewhat clarify the veteran status etc.

Well, I won't make it a requirement, but if anyone wants to add fluff, I'll post it alongside the finished mini in the voting thread!

Just a short blurb, though, no 500-page epics on the exploits of that Space Marine that is a veteran, honest guv, even though he never passed Scout training!

I'm quite excited about April's competition, hopefully my initial plan will meet fruition and I can complete something to a better standard than this month.

I really hope May's theme is something I can slot some Tau into - I want to vary my painting from just Dark Angel green and paint up a Farsight Enclave army in tandem. Before I could put my thinking cap on for April of what Tau veteran I would do, my long-engrained Imperial mind-set shoved a cool idea in my head which I just can't shake.

Dusk raiders praetorian here I come.

I've got BIG plans for this month. Looking forward to this.

You could totally do a Tau vet. One springs to mind from the books - a tau pathfinder called Jhi’kaara or 'broken mirror'. Think she was badly wounded to the face (lost an eye maybe) and gets all hardcore and grumpy (for a tau). She's in a book and a short story - Fire Caste (not a great read at all but she's pretty cool in it) and Out Caste as well I think. Fluff could make for a pretty cool conversion piece.
