I actually liked the spoiler tagged pics. While it did take a little bit longer to view them all, once I had, I just opened the ones I thought were the best to help with my final pick. With the volume of entries, doing it otherwise I think would be a lot of loading and scrolling.

I'll be honest, I hadn't thought of actually clicking on any of the pictures and commenting/voting there....

Now that my brain functions are operational again, I'll try to post something constructive on each of the entrant's pics

Gotta keep the morale up, don't we? (just don't tell the Commisars, lest we all get BLAM'd as motivation)

On second thought, would it be better to give comments on the entrant's P&M thread instead of on the gallery pics?
I'm worried that if I post something on the gallery pics it won't get noticed, and I'd hate to see those morale-boosters miss their target

I tend to comment on threads rather than images, and for my own stuff check my blog far more than my gallery. Votes are always good in the gallery, but personally I'd rather see comments in my blog.

If all else fails (the poster has no blog and hosts images offsite) a PM with some comment or advice would do if you want to help!

This has ended, yes?

I can honestly say that there were some great entries for last month!

It can’t be over; I don’t have any votes yet!

Just kidding, anyone who votes for me needs to have their eyes checked. I like my entry, but there is some mind blowing stuff up there.

(On topic, I think Para said Wednesday some time)

Aye, it should end Wednesday. I set it to 7 days simply as that was what was promised in last month's OP.

7 days is a good time span and not too much overlap with the current month's challenge.

Para, have you thought about throwing in an occasional challenge that lasts 2 months where participants would need to do say a minimum of 4 or 5 figures? Wondered if it might take some pressure of you?

A longer challange could certainly be on the cards, perhaps over the summer when people might spend less time hobbying. That said, the 1-month deadline and 1-5 mini count seems (judging by the volume of entries) to work rather well at motivating people without overloading them, so I'll stick with that for at least a while.

Some point this week I'll put up a general feedback/idea thread for suggestions on how to improve the format of the challenge and the voting, as I while it works as it is, I'm always open to ideas on how to vary the challenge or make it more accessible/fun.

I think current format working really well. Good idea to have feedback thread. Conscious that you are giving a lot of your time and was just thinking of ways to help alleviate some pressure.

Without sounding like a broken record - thanks for these competitions, it's really motivated me to get some painting done!

I voted for MangoChutney's entry. I thought it was excellent, though TheDraconianLord and jah could easily have gotten my vote too, excellent stuff!

@Winterhound: your LotD are getting way too little love...
he was my choice for the best of this round...

although Bobinator's LotD are still my favorite, Winterhound's are a close second...
the only thing that i think detracts from the actual minis themselves, is the size of the flames on the base...
a little smaller, and it would have been perfect...
they are also a bit "brown" to my eyes, for some reason...
i think a redder vibe, something a bit more "glowy", would have brought the eye up to the minis, instead of pulling it down and away...
all in all, a few good ideas that i will be stealing in the future...

Just wanted to say thanks for the comments jah! Being mentioned along with Bobinator's LotD is pretty high praise and his models definitely got me thinking about what I could try and paint. I probably wouldn't have tried painting the LotD in the first place if I hadn't seen how amazing they could look.

I completely agree with you on the base and might try playing around with them on future LotD models. I just couldn't get a red vibe that I was happy with so I went with same scheme that I had on the minis. Overall, still really happy with how they turned out and can't wait to get more of them painted up.

Congratulations to everyone!

Some amazing entries, and made me a little ashamed of my effort! However I had to vote for the eventual winner, Januine. Fantastic diorama, and a great set of DW termies. I also had to throw the vote in for making my own look so pedestrian!

I am looking forward to finishing up next months challenge now! (AKA getting started properly!).

Congratulations to the winners and all those involved, everyone finished up a painting project to a deadline which can be a real hassle at the best of times and ended up with a playable piece that they can be proud of (or sell for a profit in my case, gogo ebay!)

Its a fantastic challenge and a chance to challenge yourself, anyone brave enough to take it up can be proud.
