I ll pass... Honnestly the assassin minis are not THAT tempting... And, quote: "On top of these, you get fifteen Chaos Cultists, three Chaos Space Marines, a Chaos Familiar and a Chaos Space Marine Terminator Sorcerer"... It is not that good a bargain for 75 pounds... Though the game should be fun it is not worth it IMO. I will save it for the next WHR40K add-on box...

Looking at this closer, it honestly sounds like a Chainsaw Warrior board game with assassins. The game is timed, random rooms, events, enemies and even the cards look similar

Chainsaw Warrior is a great game. A bit random, quite difficult but a great game. I treasure my copy (and miniatures).

Of course there was no map board with CW, I'm intrigued about this now not having seen a WD yet.

They look too big for clamshells.

Either not available separately or only as a boxset of all 4?

In that case - why have separate molds and not one big one?
Maybe they won't be separately available after all..

They are the same size as the Skarr sprues arent they? Skarr comes in a clampack with two sprues

Not all GW clampacks are the same size.

Based on that, I'm glad I decided not to buy it.

Single level, basic AI, lots of random, poor quality cardstock.

Huh. Game does sound disappointing. :(

Still, it's one review, and not based on actual play. Worst comes to the worst I can always keep the rooms to add to my array of Zone Mortalis indoor terrain...

Got my copy of the Assassins game yesterday.
Bought it mostly for the assassins minis - however they were nowhere near as good as I had thought (hoped).

Basically GW see s to have shifted from heroic scale to true scale, meaning minis that look really good on pics/internet but fail to deliver on the gaming table and with tiny limbs that makes conversions and simple reposing almost impossible (i.e. Malifaux, Infinity, etc.)

Extremely fiddly (>10 pieces each) to put together and with a lot of very fine details that will not survive regular game play.

Will try to post pics of the new assassins next to the classic ones soon. IMHO they (GW) have managed to make some of their most detailed minis ever - but still the old ones are simply better :(

Vindicare, Eversor, Culexus, and... another Culexus!?

Could be the Callidus is in disguise I suppose? I've emailed GW, sure they'll straighten it out. Did this happen to anybody else?

Yay. The assassins are really nice! Chaos Terminator Lord is always a welcome sight kit wise.. To be honest the only models where they dropped the ball are the snap fit Chaos Marines from yonks ago.

I can use all of those models- brother gets more Cultists(as if he needed any more!)and ANOTHER Lord to play around with. I get some badass assassins. WIN all around IMO. The board is quite nice, though not quite in the same league as Space Hulk stuff. I got some wound counters out of it too as well as the unique ability counters for Assassins.

I cannot stand the Chaos Marines that came with the box, which is why I'm going to be using the far superior Chosen from the Dark Vengeance box set.

Disappointed. It sounds like it has all the polish and none of the substance of something like Space Hulk.
I have no doubt the tiles, artwork, simple ruleset and minitures are decent quality, it was the same with SH, DF et al but the whole randomness thing turns me off quite a bit as does the mono starting setup.
I can picture a team of assassin players working really well together, coordinating their plans, nearing the kill shot, all for it to end on a roll of a D6 as they fall out an airlock or something

I see the game is still on the webstore, I wonder how many copies they have left..

(Something tells me they learned their lesson from previous experiences with the insane-cost LE books just sat there with hundreds remaining)

I just wanted to bump this to say that the Assassin sprues are exactly the same size as the Necron Overlord sprue.

I think this was being wondered a few pages back.

Lucky you! Mine just came with a three inch tear in the rulebook and no Vindicare...

With 5 of the things being dumped on my FLGS and none of them moving as they sit there beginning to gather dust next to Space Hulk and a copy of Dreadfleet of all things I dare say GW haven't learned anything.
