Onus is on sender to ensure it arrives safely, via their agent the courier, wherever you are! You should absolutely get a replacement.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

Well I'd say someone fethed up bad here.. and it's not GW.
Looking at that kind of damage, it was handled very, very rough.
Putting a cardboardbox around it is sufficient for the type of contents - nothing prone to breaking in it.
This looked like someone shoved it with full force into a mailbox. Really trying hard to damage it. The box itself is quite heavy and firm, so to get this kind of damage you actually HAVE to try.

Looks like it s been under a tyre or pallet truck. Still, I'm pretty sure GW will sort it out.

So this is kind of cool, I'd like to get the cultists, Terminator Sorceror and obviously the Assassins, but more than that I want the game. I like co-op board games and I think this could be fun. So I went on eBay to see if I could get a fairly cheap set (so far no real luck, lowest buy it now set was $110) but I found someone selling just the game for $1 if I get it that would actually be great as I have plenty of Spec Ops and evilness miniatures from Infinity, Dark Age and now Maelstrom's Edge and Human Interface Nakamura Tower Kickstarters that'll be ending soonish. Sure it won't be the same as the much touted fancy plastic 40k Assassins, but I'm mostly in it for the game, and having another game to play with miniatures I already have for only a couple dollars would be great. I won't bid anymore on it if someone bids against me, but if I get the board game without the miniatures it would still be great. If I do lose it, I'll just buy the full game for myself and take the hit to the wallet lol.

Just buy the 4 metal assassins from GW for $15 (maybe, they are £9.50) each and the cultists from eBay. It'll give you essentially the same game for half the price, and your assassins won't look so derpy.

Same models, not the game...

I mean on top of the "game only" set he's found in eBay for $1. Lots of people will be buying this for the assassins and trying to get rid of the rest.

I'm happy that 'Games' Workshop made a new game.

My biggest problem with it is trying to figure out how to build the boards with Hirst Arts blocks.

Got an email back from GW. They're sending a replacement via Fedex at no cost. Don't have to send back the beat up game. Say what you will about their rules, their customer service is still top notch!

How to take decent photos of your models
There's a beast in every man, and it stirs when you put a sword in his hand
Most importantly, Win or Lose, always try to have fun.

fethed up. They sent me my missing Callidus - hooray - I put it all together today and minor gripe, they didn't give me enough bases either, although I've got plenty lying around.

I've had a go at the game now and I like it - nice design, isn't going to set the world on fire but definitely enjoyable. I don't think I'd recommend it to boardgame fans but for people who also want the models for 40k it's a nice bonus.

Sounds like you won out there as the Chaos marines included are rubbish. finding someone who can trade you 3 more appropriate models should be easy enough. I'm going to use some DV Chosen myself.
