I didn't like the imperial list at all. The warp spiders are so good now. Super annoying to shoot at.

Thanks for watching!

Two of the 'wins' due to Deep Strike mishaps don't count for much in my book, especially against someone just adopting a new army/tactic. /shrug

Without belaboring the point: While the presence of 'D' shaped deployment and affected how my opponent utilized his Imperial Knight, it did not 'auto-win' the game for me. And, it took 3 wounds from a single round of being shot at by Melta Guns.

I'll be playing against stronger lists until I get to a point where I have to change mine (Necrons, CentStar, Daemon Flying Circus, Nid Flying Circus, Daemonkin and Green Tide look competitive). I am already considering dropping the Dire Avengers (from the Aspect Host) and their Wave Serpent for Swooping Hawks, though that's not a change motivated by my current list's failure to perform. Well, that's not true, having the Vendetta up and running around for 4 turns was annoying because it suppressed my Hornets and took firepower (wasted firepower) that I could have used on other targets.

Can't disagree about the Imperial list. It seems to me that Grey Knights hit diminishing returns really fast. If he continues to rely on deep-strike, he might want to work Servo-Skulls into his list. That was his second game with it, so lack of familiarity played a role as well.

I am working on creating trollface decals for my Warp Spiders. I think it's only appropriate.

Thanks for watching!

Thanks for sharing. Your first game against Eldar/Deldar was a good one in terms of matchups. The second report, your Imperial opponent was just over-matched.

BTW, it's +3 to the damage charts for fire dragons shooting at an open-topped transport (not +4).

Thank you for watching! I was looking for a game vs. the Necron Decurion, but I couldn't get our local Necron guy to bring them. Maybe next week. I have decent chances of getting in an AdLance game (though that seems less relevant now with their new codex). At least it would demonstrate the degree to which Eldar have improved/changed.

As for the pen chart: Fusion Guns are AP1, so that's +2 right there. The new Fire Dragon 'Assured Destruction' rule is an additional +1 (+3 total so far). Open Topped adds another +1 so... +4

It will be a lot more interesting when you face off versus a tougher list run play someone with experience with that army. Looking forward to it. The GK army was overall too slow to deal with your army but at least we can start devising some anti D tactics.

One tactic for sure is to actively engage in the 'reserves game'.

If my Wraithknight was on the board the turn his Grey Knights (and the IG command squad) came in, they might have done some damage--maybe even enough to remove it. What I had to learn playing against AdLance was that timing is critical, and to keep my key units in reserves where they can't be harmed. Since the Wraithknight is a Jump Gargantuan Creature (first of its kind, I think), I have no qualms about reserving it to dodge alpha strikes.

Yikes, Eldar vs Eldar. I would hate to play Fog of War against Eldar. Hope Dustin's tournament went will with the fun Fog of War rules.

I heard no grumbling from the players. It was refreshing, and after the first round of games, everyone had at least a rough idea of what was out there. My new favorite thing is the way he handled the Kill Point mission: Every 154 points worth of units completely destroyed is worth one Victory Point. That sets the max at 12 no matter how many units a player has and makes expensive units worth more. That was fun! I obliterated an sub-optimal Tau list in that game, but my opponent also made questionable decisions like infiltrating 12" from my Wraith Knight and moving off of his board edge, giving me rear armor for all my Deep Strike and Outflank shenanigans. He had no respectable offensive capacity by the end of T3.

Oh: The new Monofilament rule versus Riptides is sadface. Used to wound on 3's (because the guns went to S7), now wound on 2's (because it's S6 versus the Initiative characteristic). Firing 14 BS5 shots and 2 BS6 shots and then wounding on 2's resulted in 10 or so wounds. Brutal.

I liked the first game with the Eldar on Eldar action. is it played at a game store? The terrain definitely needs help, just a typical eyesore for me..especially for video batreps.

Yeah, filmed at a game store. The terrain is very much run-down. I would film on my own table, which has decent terrain, but then you'd only see me beat up on my other armies (Tau, CSM, SM), none of which is optimized. Among other reasons, this is why I keep my reports short and to-the-point; it's not like there's a lot of pretty models and pretty scenery to look at.

Thanks for watching!

With the cloud strike formation can the embarked units disembark on the turn the Falcons arrive? I thought that vehicles arriving from deep strike count as having moved at cruising speed?

That was a 7th ed change. Combat speed now.

In prior editions, there's always been an explicit exception allowing models to disembark from Deep Striking transport vehicles. It's even still in 7th edition, despite the change to Combat Speed making it completely unnecessary. The line is usually in the Deep Strike movement phase rules, indicating that models that DS'd cannot move, other than to disembark from a Deep Striking transport vehicle.

Drop Pods would have had a pretty rough life, otherwise.

Very cool. Please keep up the reports!

Also, good luck fighting the good fight on getting acceptance of Eldar. I've noticed you making cases for them on a few websites, and that isn't an easy thing. I'm hoping the results of the BAO help players calm down on the hate some.

Absolutely true. I can only play against what the guys in my area put on the table. I can't count on being able to record tournament games, though that is where I'm most likely to get a serious matchup. I have another tournament this weekend. I will do my best to film all the games, including the ones I lose!

I did play against a flying circus the other day--Daemons primary with Fateweaver, 2 Tzeentch Princes and 2 units of Nurglings with a CaD of CSM featuring a Daemon Prince, 2 units of Cultists and 2 Heldrakes. Long story short, I won by one point after grounding, assaulting and destroying one of the princes on the bottom of turn one (VERY lucky, considering he used Fatey's re-roll on the grounding check and I had a 10" charge), killing another prince (RaW Invisible) that assaulted one of my Wraith Knights, and taking out a Heldrake that had dropped into hover. Basically, anything that landed, died. He took the last wound off of one of the Wraith Knights with the Slaanesh Warp Storm (rending hits). but otherwise spent his time shrieking/baleflaming everything he could touch. The real stars of the show though, were the Warp Spiders, staying close to cover and Flickerjumping from one side of an LoS piece to another several times during the game.

Thanks for watching!

Nice work man! Really like seeing a lot of Eldar battle reports, they've been cool to watch. Strangely, it seems like there's been a dearth of Eldar tactics and battle reports since the new book has come out.

Loved seeing someone else play 2 Wraithknights with Shimmershield/Sword combo, they're so good. Also, looks like the Vaul's Wrath D-Cannons have been working great for you, which is nice - I had been concerned about the 24" range but looks like no problems there.

I play a Wraith Host army currently, and reading about your Daemon story I wonder if I would've been able to beat that. Daemons and the penta Tyrant lists are the only things that make me worried, though D with that lucky 6 renders 2++ rerollables moot. We'll see, I haven't played against one yet.
