Januine, at some point we're going to have to insist you stop being so damn good at this!

In all seriousness, though, that's an awesome piece!

Hahhahaha - thanks Para. Loved doing this one from top to bottom (ok - the purity spray debacle I could have done without) Those Chosen are gorgeous figs to paint. Dio was a blast to design and make too. Really really chuffed with how it turned out

As well you should be, Januine. Very nice work on some of my favorite figs. Makes me want to dig mine out and paint them!

Knocking out the last tidbits of my giant troll. I forgot how much a pain in the ass large models were for finding all of the small details. Like the ropes for the club, loincloth, trophies, etc... I must have gone back and painted things four times after washing off my brush because I found yet another rope I'd missed! lol I should be ok getting it done enough to post up as "finished" but will probably do a few touch ups after the deadline for my own satisfaction. Will photograph before that though to keep it honest.

Lots of great stuff coming in, hope I get a few votes!

Freaking hell that diorama is awesome! How did you get the blood on the poster to turn out so well? I did a mixture of BftBG and a bright red to get the bloody writing look but it didnt turn out as nice as yours.

Seriously top work, Januine. It boggles my mind that you can knock that out in a month while maintaining such high standards.

I cant believe how much work you guys can get done in a month, and to such a high standard! I've had to call it a day and declare this guy finished. Although there's a lot I intend to do in future such as working on the base and wanting to try my hand at lot of OSL, I've just run out of time, hopefully manage to get a bit more done on next months entry if work allows.

Fantastic work from all again this month, it is great to see what everyone manages to put together.

My finished pics:

It was a bit of a struggle getting this guy done this month, but I have made it after 4 different colour schemes before I settled on the final one. The only thing I was sure of was that he was having a 'Goblin Green' base.

Januine - that entry is ridiculously good.. damn you.

Firstly good luck to everyone in the voting this month.

I am cutting it close but here is my final entry. A little disappointed by the quality of the photos since this has been a massive effort to mod and paint. I even cooked the metal snake in the the oven to bend it round the waist of the Warboss. I tired to take a few of the comments from last time and apply them to this model and try a few new things as well .

I present my Snakebite Warboss called "Skarteef, the Monstrous" and his Rhinox Mount, "Thunderstomp"

Backstory to explain all the bits on him.

Spoiler:

Skarteef is from the planet of Shillion in the Segmentum Ultimus. As a young nob, Skarteef choose to prove himself to the other nobs of the tribe by going on a hunt for a well known, dangerous wild boar with just his huge choppa, no shooty stuff. He tracked the boar down and charged the beast. After a close fight he emerged victorious but missing the whole of his lower jaw. Upon his return to the camp he was turned away from the docs for not having any teeth to pay. After knocking out the doc and taking his teeth he paid the tribes mad doc to attach the boar's tusks to a new metal jaw.

The local PDF became aware of the small Ork camp and sent several squads of guardsmen backed up by a Leman Russ to destroy them, the fight was going badly for the Orks until Skarteef charged the tank with several found stikkbombs attached to a log. The resulting explosion threw the Ork back several dozen feet but destroyed the tank. After this mighty feat the battle was won and Skarteef rose to become the new Warboss. He was given the nickname "Skarteef, the Monstrous" after the local town discovered he had stolen a pole from an important Zebra crossing for the local school to create a new and improved stikkbomb lance.

After becoming Warboss, Skarteef moved his tribe closer to the nearest big human settlement to hunt "umies. After several raids the locals paid a Ogryn bounty hunter to remove the Ork. Skarteef saw the Ogryn on the next raid and charged wanting the glory of the kill for himself. The Ogryn was a good fight and cost Skarteef his right eye but luckily he had another one, he flayed the Ogryns skin and now has it proudly displayed atop his Rhinox "Thunderstomp". Thunderstomp is the biggest Rhinox on the planet of Shillon which lead Skarteef to track and capture the beast as his war mount. The snakes in the new area proved to be disappointingly poisonous so he had some really dangerous ones collected from their old camp and now wears then round his waist to keep his poison levels up.

So many awesome monsters!

@Januine: Fantastic diorama! Love the details like the posters. I am impressed what you accomplished within a month!

@rollawaystone: That... ...thing... ...is really scary! I really like the color scheme! Many tyranids look a bit cartoonish, not so with yours. Well done!

@Paradigm: Thanks for putting this together! I have a feeling my painting skills have improved exponentially the past two months, probably for focusing on single minis as opposed to painting armies.

It's been a busy month for me, but today I finally got my wife and kid out of the house so I could paint and I have painted frantically for some six hours or so. In the end my Nurgle Lord isn't quite finished, but I did what I set out to do and I am extremely happy with the parts that are finished so I submit it as it is. There were two things I wanted to try out this month. First OSL. Never really did that and the nurgling flamethrower seemed to be a perfect place to start. Secondly to paint more complex skintones and what better than a big fleshy nurgle lord?

To accomplish this, another first. I got myself a Privateer Press wet palette. I could never have done this months paintjob without it! Not quite as good as the adverticement, but you sure extend the working time of blended paint.

"Kelpie"

Afar, off shore and single,
Some stallion, rearing swift,
Neighs hungry for new fodder,
And calls us to the drift:
Then down the cloven ridges—
A million hooves unshod—
Break forth the mad White Horses
To seek their meat from God!
