Also, thoes drones look like sniper drones, but don't appear to have rail rifles. Perhaps it's a new support drone to make up for FW's not having special weapons?

This conversation is making me regret working for a living! Any chance someone could rehost the images on dakka? (not imgur, that's blocked too!).

As a non-Tau player, I can't really tell the difference at a quick glance between the new and old Firewarriors (apart from the helmets), but I'm glad GW still update basic infantry kits. It gives me hope for the far future, when CSM get an update. The missile suit looks silly, I think he's missing some arms (I guess balance is the reason he seems to have supports coming out of his butt (or knees, it's hard to tell)). The other suit looks really cool, what's that replacing?

Has that missiletide thing got stabilisers between his legs? Why? Surely with legs that large hes protected Vs recoil. Weird.
New flyers look pretty cool.

Missile backpack? Or add them to the upper arms of a riptide. I'll assume this will be a multi-kit so it would be fairly easy to do something to make it less...ick.

It looks like the missile-tide also has 2 big rockets under each arm (maybe AA or heavy armour?) and something that almost looks like a giant smoke projector under one of those.

The main differences seem to be the helmet and backpacks, as well as a general detail upgrade. Looks like they also streamlined the pulse carbine (or that's what it looks like)

Tau are back in October, with new Firewarriors, Riptide variants and the XV95 suit!

October 10 is the release date of:

- XV95 Ghostkeel (stealth suit)
- XV128 Stormsurge (missile suit)

That's one amazing looking kit. My tau roomy is going to be broke..

There also appears to be two different versions of the big gun (one rail one ion maybe?).

New FWs look good. I like their poses and slightly more martial look.

Are the missiletide stands for aesthetics or actual physical model balance? They look crap.

And on this image there is something underneath the stealth-tide.


Edit: never mind, I think it's just a piranha.

This build makes me think he's been skipping out on leg day.

Reminds me of a Glitterboy, pylons that shoot into the ground as stabilizers + giant shoulder gun.

Surely the opposite? Considering his legs are huge and he has no arms...

Even with the large legs the upper body is still massively disproportionate and top heavy looking. Especially if you added arms on top of all that missile craziness he'd look like that hulk given how top heavy it already is.

I am not super familiar with Tau from Forgeworld but, will this be their first D weapon?

It looks like the new warriors are using the old legs.

Hopefully they retouched them a bit as I've been noticed some loss of detail on the thigh pads, especially on the kneeling legs, on my last few purchases of FW.


I looked at the cover-stealthtide the wrong way and thought it was the the resin commander replacement.

Misiletide's got hips and thighs for days. (hopefully an errant power bat doesn't meet its shins)

They have a single D weapon (the heavy rail gun), but that's only mounted on two thing, both superheavy fliers, the manta which is prohibitively expensive, and the tiger shark AX-1-0 which isn't all that good. The weapon in question is direct fire, so you don't hear complaints about it very often.

No, the Manta has a single D shot gun, that flyer is terrible though
