I believe this is from the next white dwarf. Seems to be a damage table for the Stormsurge reminiscent of the Imperator Titan's, perhaps for a specialist game or RPG?

Perhaps, maybe something like a survival thing where it's 3 of these vs a relatively large number of troops, bu these guys have to be totally destroyed via a damage table or something?

I agree that "MAKE IT BIGGER" replaced innovation and originality at GW. As I said, I really dislike this miniature with the exception of a few tiny parts I'd like to have for conversions.

Years/decades ago, and I have gamed since 1st edition, through out GWs website and articles in WD, they have always said their goal was to bring the epic scale 40k into the 28mm 40k scale world. This is what they have been working on doing for many years, if not decades. Models will get even bigger as time goes on. Someday you'll see a Capitol Imperialis on the table.... :O

And probably put the Manta price to shame lol

Yup, we've seen the cover for the Ghostkeel issue and it mentioned that.

I do hope this is a stand alone minigame and not one like the one for Flyers from the Death from the Skies was expected to be.

All good to me I like filling out a 6x4, 6x8, or 8x8 table, with the smallest models being 28mm, and the largest being about the size of an Wraithknight, with all manner of sizes of models (and terrain) in between. I don't think you'll see much larger than IK (not including fortifications/terrain) for the 6x4 table size, because models like warhounds just take up too much space. The FW SH GC models are really made for 8x12's and up, IMO. Which I'd be happy to play on, but then I'd have to renovate my basement LOL.

When was the last time that they included scenarios in a codex?

I dont think the white dwarf minigame will be reprinted in the Tau codex. It is one of those minigames they make for every release tying into the new stuff. This one is one Stormsurge vs one Imperial Knight with a specialised damage and aim table for each, It is not the sort of thing they would put in a codex.

Yeah, agreed. It makes no sense in the codex. Looks like it'd be fun to play just to kill time and to do a "clash of the titans" though

That does put my paranoid mind at ease a bit.

Tau items on GW (USA) went from 48 items (yesterday) to 40 today... no "sold out" just missing items from the site....

Probably dropped the battle force. Reboxed the broadsides, pathfinders, piranhas and devilfish and stealth suits.

It's worth mentioning that someone posted a list that had the Devilfish given a designation(I think it was T-7 "Devilfish"?), and all the missing items are in the old style boxes(with action shots!).

Damnit! My wife transferred my $553.13 from my paypal to our bank account. There goes my play money for my planned Tau army.

The Manta is a transport/gunship. The Tiger Shark A-X-1 is the "titan-killer" but as per the Democles Warzone books (IIRC), it pretty much failed to live up to the expectations and the idea was scrapped.

What's interesting is that the FW piranha is also TX (TX-42) designation, I guess TX is for ground vehicles now?

Edit: it fits with the curent mass classes for battleuits too, the devilfish body is quite a bit bigger than the pirhana (7 vs 2). I'm thinking the devilfish will probably be TX-7.
