On a more on-topic note, this is why science is awesome. Let's hope that any medical advances gained from this becomes affordable to people in general quickly. I can imagine replacement limbs costing you an arm and a l... damnit.

This is a fantastic step. I knew a man who lost both his legs by having them burned off when a long haul trucker who had been driving a couple of days straight without sleep rammed the vehicle he was in on a stretch of desert highway in Nevada. He's probably dead from old age by now, but I think about him and a friend's brother who was a Marine sniper that lost his legs to a booby trap.

The benefits that are possible in the future to people in that condition, holy cow.

That's amazing. Seriously, the ability to give people new limbs without the huge risk of rejection or the need to take immune suppresants for the rest of their lives? That will be huge.
