it's just me or by the fact that no where in the Gauntlets description the words Power Fists appears we can assume the Big Boss hitting at I5?

Doesn't matter whether or not the words Power Fists appear. If Unwieldy isn't listed, it's not listed. Full Initiative it is.

if the gauntlets aren't ruled they are two separate weapons, then it is one weapon and if he gets disarmed he loses the gauntlets (ie all gauntlets) and could use his power sword...maybe

judging from the UM upgrade sprue recently released UM have a thing for swords.

They are probably flying around on their strike cruisers watching the emperors shopping network and there is a very overweight techpriest that looks into the screen and says

"Swords..."

It's on the model, so it's in the rules. It's been there for a long time, it's not a typo.

No, because the Gauntlets already a pair of Melee weapons.

When a buddy and I looked we couldn't find where it is called a pair except in fluff. We figured that was left out as untimely it's not needed since you have the sword.

It says in the weapons entry that each gauntlet can be used as a close combat weapon with the below profile, or combined to be fired with the other profile.

So, strict rules as written, if you fire the gauntlets of macragge, you can't use them to punch things in the same turn. (Same issue as the necron staff thing)

We've been over this. The rule is poorly written but it doesn't actually stop you from using those things as melee weapons unless SPECIFICALLY TOLD OTHERWISE (Burna Boyz).

I don't think we need to have this argument again. We all know what the rules are.

I just think the "or fired together" is simply to allow them to make one weapon profile. Imagine if they didn't:

"Hey it listed one weapon profile, but he has two of them. So do I get to shoot both?"

"Hey it listed one weapon profile, but there's two of them, but that means I can only ever shoot one? Weird."

"Hey he has two weapons, but it only lists the profile of one, why didn't they include the other?"

"Under what circumstances can he fire both of his guns? They aren't pistols"


They said they fire as one weapon and gave "it", the combination of both, a single weapon profile. It doesn't preclude them being used in the assault phase, no more than firing a bolt pistol in the shooting phase prevents you from using it as a melee weapon for an extra attack later in the assault phase.

He also lost master crafted on them. Now though i cant see a reason to put him in termie armour as he loses his nades.

He looks FAR FAR FAR cooler in the Terminator armour...

He can deep strike on his own or with other deep striking units if he is in TDA, but has to hitch a ride if not.

Also, maybe one day GW will fix TDA, and included the option for Calgar because the fix will appear in 8th.

Also move and fire OS...

The real reason behind the Termi armor for him is to gain Relentless and move, shoot the orbital barrage and assault.

While if he is in his PA armor, he cannot move, since the Orbital barrage is a Ordenance weapon, even though the rule says that the model can still assault in the same turn.
