Horizon: Zero Dawn gamplay trailer, pretty awesome. Sony is mocking me for not having a PS4 again.
Oh I just love this game. The idea the style. Only complaint is that I don't want the robots to look too much like animals. Like that bird at the end, but oh god so lovely.
Yeah, Anno is a long-running series of resource-based city builders. You have to manage a series of resources to build your city up, which opens up more resources that you need to manage, etc...
All but the most recent game were set in the past.
I got an alert about the Star Wars expansion in my e-mail today, and I noted that it talks about a return to Bioware storytelling (close paraphrase). I'm wondering if there's been a shift in thought over at Bioware recently regarding plotline value?

Man, what a hole to be dug into...
No the hole of runaway budgets and production costs, a problem endemic to both movies and video games.
That and their over reliance of preorders is going to be the death of the industry.
If they keep making bonkers crazy budgets like they have been then games are going to suffer and not be as interesting or fun.
Hence why I am so wary of the new things coming out. I saw the KOTOR trailer got excited for a second then saw it was for the MMO which barely anyone plays and is not even fun. I would rather play Knights of the Old Republic The first one...... Because at least it had fully voiced cast that was interesting.... Anyway back on topic: I am very wary of any triple A company currently. After the travesty that is known as watch dogs and The Master Chief Collection.

The only game that really fits that bill, IMO, was Destiny.
Well any game that is over 200 million dollars is way over budget. No game should exceed that much money and sadly most triple A games do nowadays. The bigger the teams and the shorter the span the games are told to be developed in the quality will drop. Most games take three years to make.

The fact that you put Watch_Dogs into the same sentence when discussing MCC shows just how disconnected you are from the reality of games.
MCC was a mess, pure and simple.
Watch_Dogs had a "scandal" attached to it in that they downgraded the graphics for PCs. OMG, TRAVESTY!
I am in the games industry. MCC was a mess and heavily relied on preorders just as Watch Dogs did. The graphics issue wasn't the main problem with the game, it promised alot and it didn't at all deliever.
Witcher 3 had more of a scandal with the graphics. But that isn't what i was talking about or implying. Though it was a massive downgrade for the game. As it was such a striking downgrade. From the E3 downgrade. Infact you could technically sue them for false advertisement Hence why I don't believe in showing the best graphics possible at E3. For many of us the best graphics should be shown when the game is basically done and about to be released. Not for a press conference which is meant for consumers.
Watch Dogs didn't do as well as they projected it would. AS they are trying to get people to preorder that is what is holding up this industry for the Triple AAA
Or how most game companies are pushing and inflating their budgets so high that instead of making a game they are just showing an engine in action thus hurting the game. *cough* battlefield *cough*
From whom are unforgiven we bring the mercy of war.
Odd title. The title makes it sound like an MMORPG. And it's not that both because I checked, and because Final Fantasy XIV is too new to be up for replacement at this time (the first FFXIV expansion releases next week).

The fact that you are diminishing the nonsense and the bold-faced lies that came with Watch_Dogs shows just how disconnected you are from the reality of games.

I.. just.. wha? They had problems with the multiplayer side of things. Just having a multiplayer game run four different games that run on different versions of engines and hussle them is a real strain that they didn't comprehend.
And just what exactly didn't it deliver? The game came with literally everything you need in a Halo Collection. They even gave us ODST for free.
Anyway I was disappointed with what Nintendo showed. Greatly unimpressed by Starfox Zer0. And... oh look some new Zelda... for 3ds... yeah great...

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.
My relationship with this years E3 can be summarised as flogging a dead horse. But replace the horse with my wallet and flogging with taking it out back and shooting.
I've caught up on E3 now and I was looking at Sony's E3 presentation and feel is was a bit of a swizz.
They showed some really cool stuff, FF7, Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian, No Man's Sky and others.
My problem with it is that we're not getting anything this year. FF7 and Shenmue 3 are only just beginning development. We're probably not going to see them till 2018. The Last Guardian and is 2016 and so is No Man's Sky!
I feel my PS4 is going to end up going unused for a while, well I prefer it for multiplatform releases actually so maybe not.
But the Xbox One is getting a bunch of stuff this year and showed it all.
I think Sony just looked at what they had to offer, panicked and announced games REALLY early.

I think SquareEnix will be aiming for 2017 for Final Fantasy VII. 20th anniversary of the original.

The Laws of Thermodynamics:
1) You cannot win. 2) You cannot break even. 3) You cannot stop playing the game.

That'd make sense really.
Still making a AAA game in 2 years is a big ask isn't it?

I woulda lumped MCC into the same category as Aliens: Colonial Marines, not Watch_Dogs, honestly.
Now, I'm not saying that Triple-A games or the industry is bad, but it would be nice if they got off the shooter kick for a year or two. Make a Propah Thief game (though at this point that might just be Dishonored...), a classic JRPG (That isn't a remake), stuff like that.
Dunno about the sales figures, but they REALLY ruined Dead Space 3 when they made it so actiony. Dead Space 2 was the perfect mix, I thought. Same with Fear 3 and Fear 2, honestly.
Edit:
Also, For Honor. CAN I GET A HELL YEAH?!?
