ARMA3 worth a pop?
Was literally obsessed with Opflash back in the day and dabbled in arma1 but it was very clunky.

I don't spend much on Steam sales anymore, I tend to have already bought most of the things that I want already. One a couple of days virtually everything on the main page was already in my library.

Order of War - OK, basically a WW2 version of World In Conflict although the 2 games are not actually related

Gravi team Tactics:Operation Star - a very deep wargame with a strategic layer and real time combat.

Warlock 2 - basically Warlock 1

Pre Civilisation - Marble Age- Basically a mobile game about acquiring more tings to acquire more things.

All in all I spent about a tenner.

I love that game! Enjoy

I's...too good. Inititally, my wife dragged me into it as she loved it. I was straight back on my high horse, looking down at just another casual game. Started playing...well...haven't had that much fun since a long time

Yeah, it's casual to be sure-- but it's an extremely well executed casual game. Those are rare, we should cherish those

I've not got that many games, but I am on a retro FPS kick so I picked up Doom and Doom 2, Half Life and Half Life 2.

I also picked up Dark Souls to see what all the fuss is about, and Crusader Kings 2 because a friend is always ranting about it.

Considered getting Rome Emperor Edition, but Rome is not a historical period I'm very enthusiastic about right now. I make it a policy not to pick up Early Access anything, so I will wait til Darkest Dungeon is released fully before I pick it up.

I just bought Darkest Dungeon and I won't play it till it is fully released. Once it has been then I will start playing it.

For dark souls play with a controller. A keyboard will kill you and make you cry.

That's just for Dark Souls 1 though. DS2 is a lot easier to play with a keyboard and mouse (though many will still like controllers better, I don't).

- Postal²
- The Saint Row franchise, hoping they keep their promise to port Saint Row IV to Linux.

I got X: Rebirth, and Life is Strange.

Haven't started the latter, but I'll get to it before long.

Started the former, but I'm having to deal with missions that require getting components that frequently simply aren't available (and that you have to wait a long time for when they are available) due to a screwed up economic situation, and the civil war that breaks out early in the campaign (and further screws up the economy).

Life is Strange is fantastic. Gameplay wise there's not a lot to it. Walk around, look at stuff, listen to Max's inner monologues, talk to people, rewind time and mess with people or save the day.

But the story is really enjoyable, and it has a great soundtrack.

Got AC 3 last summer on steam. Was forced to install Uplay and run it through that. Said NOPE, uninstalled and haven't touched it since.

Thanks for the advice guys. I just tried it with the mouse and keyboard and it really is pretty bad that they didn't even change the tutorial instructions to those controls.

Can I pick up an X Box controller and plug it in or should I get a particular brand of controller? I've not used one with a PC before.

Yeah, a wired Xbox controller works fine. Most games on PC with controller support nowadays are designed for the Xbox controller.

Picked up EuroTruck Simulator 2 (very darn addictive), Xcom and Wolfenstein.
Im not convinced about WS. It has some great parts both plot and action wise and then some truely crap/strange parts.
Almost like it was cobbled together by two different teams/writers.

Ah, so they haven't fixed it yet.

Are you referring to Wolfenstein: The New Order, or Wolfenstein: The Old Blood?

Which parts do you not like? I haven't finished the Old Blood yet but I thought the New Order was really well done.

They fixed part of it. The construction ship now comes with one of the processed items that you need. From what I've read, that wasn't the case originally.

Unfortunately, one of the other items is an *extremely* rare commodity in my playthrough. From what I've read that's not always the case. But it is for me. I know where it's being manufactured, but a only a small allotment of them becomes available once every hour.

Ironically, all of the optional weapons were extremely easy to purchase.

New order is the one Im playing.

I just found it had too many glaring plots holes - I know, its not supposed to be 100% serious, its Wolfenstein afterall but:
Spoiler:
Blazko awaking after a 17 year coma fully combat ready, the undergrond movement skipping from country to country without any trouble, him liberating an entire prison in the centre of Germany, the Moon trip .

I also thought some levels were very poor, notably the train crash Gibralta one - it was badly designed and quite unfun and the Moon level had such potential but it was quite wasted. Some of the dialogue scens are also just strange and dont fit very well.

Its not a bad game tbh but Im very glad I got it on a deal rather than full retail.

Yeah, the storyline of the Doom series was... bare-bones, to be generous. Just enough to hang some jokes on and a reason to explain why flaming skulls are screaming at you.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
