Now the Gw's releases are becoming more and more broken as time goes on, at some point GW is either going to tone it back or keep losing profits.
When they do start, who do you think will be the unfortunate set of players to be stuck with an under-powered codex to match Spacies, Necrons, and Eldar?

Orks. They must be considered OP by now and will take a nerf. I here some lists don't get tabled, that won't do.

I don't think any of them are. Super buffing the books must be doing well with selling models so they're all going to get similar treatment to drive purchases.

I think the only purchasing/selling activity that saw an increase is the e-bay and various other 3rd party channels frequented by waac players looking for the flavour of the month.

I'm going to with none of them.
Also, there's no Guard option there. They're still a 6th Ed book.
Maybe one of the Ork options is actually IG in disguise?

The pessimist in me says my orks will get nerfed even harder than they already are, somehow.
But, orks codex is probably a little ways out, and with DA freshly out, I have to think that CSM can't be too far behind.
Whoever it is, I've been waiting for them to tone it down since Necrons. Maybe they're going with a "If everything is broken, nothing is broken" strategy.

You know, there was a time when Chaos was considered cheesy as Tzeentch's cheese-dimension of cheese. Meanwhile Orks... never! I would bank on GW continuing that trend.

There's always the option GW could just double down on the insanity.
Seriously, back in 5th, the likes of 2++ re-rollables were the realm of comedic hyperbole. Same thing for super heavy vehicles in normal games and the likes of invisibility. Take that power shift, and apply it to what we have now. It sounds ridiculous, but it could just as easily happen.
Hell, for all we know, there won't be point costs for units in the next edition, just a bunch of formations.

If there's any way for GW to finalize their own destruction, it's to believe that people will respond positively to "We don't want to get in the way of you forging your narrative, so we've replaced points costs with standard formations. Work out with your opponent what you'd like to bring to the battle and have fun!".
It's a bad sign that this is actuality a believable eventuality and not some sick joke. Automatically Appended Next Post: As a side note, even this poll is giving CSM the finger if you look at the graph right. HL3 confirmed Automatically Appended Next Post:

I've not seriously entertained the idea that it'd be them.
Then again, the last time it happened it was Dark Angels that were the first on the toned-down scale.
We all know it won't be Sisters, though, because that would require giving them a new codex, period.
At any rate, I added Guard and removed the second Ork entry. And to think, I haven't even started drinking today...

Chaos? Nah, probably not. Not when there's stuff like Orks to nerf.
But Chaos Space Marines? The bad guys? Yeah, they'll get hit by the nerf bat. Again. Fo' shizzle.
At this rate, Sisters don't want a new codex. It won't be pretty. Probably.
Or, possible alternative, Tau get a counter nerf. Because they were strong in 6th, so obviously need to be toned down now.
"Eldar? Nah, they're fine. I said they're fine. Now excuse me while I find my Eldrad bodypillow." - Phil Kelly.
Of course, that's a joke. Tau and Dark Eldar won't see a new codex for another decade. They're probably otiose, right?
Wait, hold on, Tyranids are on that list. It's gonna be 'Nids, definitely. Assuming it's not the trifecta of Orks, CSM and 'Nids anyway, it'll be them. Genuinely would put money on that.

Going by the last hiatus, we won't see another Ork codex until 10th edition
Chaos Space Marines seems likely. The new codices seem to focus on rejiggering existing units - I think CSM needs something really new and different to stand out.

I'd say CSM, but if it is nobody then by default it will be BA as we were released right before all this craziness so will probably be the last to be updated, therefore be bottom of the pile again for another couple of years.

I am siding with CSM. GW just don't seem to know what to do with them. If you want chaos flavour with a good army, if somewhat flaky morale, then go with IA13 R&H.
|
Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you. |

Its gonna be Tau. Their playstyle is inheritedly broken as they only compete in a single phase.
Lorewise they cant assault or use psychic powers. Suits are too heavy an investment for the amount of meq-killers that run around in the current meta. Which means they rely solely on riptides and they will propably get nerfed.
Tau need a serious buff in the movement department. Either by making suits T5 or by making devilfish considerably cheaper. An open transport wouldnt hurt either.
Right now you play triptide or gunline (or both). Its not that fun to play and not fun to play against.
There is a reason Taudar was op. They suddenly became dominant in 2 phases (Psychic/Shooting). To prevent further decline and in spirit with the lore they need to be competetive in the movement phase and dominant in the shooting phase.

I'd argue it's already happened. the space Marine formation boosts aren't that great. the only real stand out thing is the free transports if you run a very suboptimal army. (when's the last time anyone has seen a battle company on the board?)
