You are welcome, magic protection and anti-chaos daemon powers. The lantern can also protect and heal Stormcast units

Interesting photos from Atia. A new Khorne model?

What?

No they were not

One valued stealth and the other valued brute force to win.

Yeah definitely the same God when ones sneaky and stabs you when your not looking and the other will just punch you directly to the face.

From what I can gather, the Castellants are more akin to priests or wizards.
Lord-Celestants are the heroic heroes.

Anyone able to translate the babygriff warscroll? What do they have besides beaks and claws? Can you take units of em or is it just 1 for a pet here and there?

Hopefully they are going to Gencon and planning to run lots of demos to show off the game... last time I was there it was just a forgettable store area in the vendor hall

You can have units. They make four attacks instead of two if they're within 3" of lord-celestant. They can move d6" after attacking. If enemy is set up within 10" of them roll 2d6, friendly units within that many inches of the gryph-hounds may make an extra shooting attack at the enemy unit.

Gryph Hounds
as many models as you like
roll a dice after they attacked and move them up to the shown distance
if the target is in 3" of the Lord, the Hound has 4 Attacks against it
if an enemy unit is deployed in 10" around the hound roll 2 dice and add up the numbers. Every unit that is within the rolled distance can attack the enemy like in the shooting phase

Swift attack : resolving your attacks you roll a d6 and you can repositionen that far.

Stalwart companion: when within 3 inch of a lord castellant you attack 4 times instead of 2

Alarming screech: allied units within 2d6 inch of a griffin may make a ranged attack when an enemy is placed within 10 inch of the griffin

Ahha!

I thought there was something hinky with the way others were saying that it allowed friendly units to make a shooting attack.

The extra shooting attack makes far, far, far more sense.

For hilarity's sake, here's what I got from Google translate:
It is said that it is impossible to sneak up unnoticed to a Gryph - Hound . If an enemy unit is situated within 10 " to this unit , throw two dice and add the eyes numbers . Each unit is located within the union result in inches around the Gryph - Hounds , is alarmed by the Gryph - Hounds and may the enemy attacking unit with one of their weapons , as if just their shooting phase .

Wait, they've made Gork and Mork into the one God and called him Gorkamorka?? have they written it in such a way that Gork and Mork melded into a new entity as a form of symbiosis or explained how they formed a union? Seems very strange altogether...maybe a totally different new name would have been more convincing

On another note I see that one of the Sigmarines is holding up a large standard in the new artwork. Would be interested in seeing that model as alternate conversion fodder for my Grey Knights

There arent really many information on Gorkamorka.. which is a shame for Orcplayers are probably quite a large margin of WHF players AND they usually are quite crazy about their army.

Disclaimer: I'm one of those

I never really cared that much about the WHF background, but Gork and Mork were SUCH a big influence that even at hardcore tournaments I participated in, I always jested abouto Gorks .. OR Morks feet crushing my enemies.

So the new kitbash-hounds can be taken as a seperate unit...but the model itself can only be bought in combination with the lantern guy.

Screw you, GW.

Gw at gencon? Lol they were gone for a couple of years and when they returned it was either a sad booth or glorified Forge world stand. I don't think they have actually run events in quite some time. I know they have gw type events but never saw actual staff running them.

So far as we know for the time being, yes.

Wouldn't be shocked to see an actual small box or blister of the Gryph-Hounds later on.

I see some potential for abuse of the Griffon hound special rules.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Truthfully, it's going to depend exactly on how the rule is worded.

The translation I got is different from what Crimson posted, which was different from what was being posted by others.

If it's the case of Gryph-Hounds allowing a friendly unit within 2d6 inches of the Gryph-Hound to either
A) Fire an additional shot with their missile weapon against an enemy unit which is set up within 10 inches of the Gryph-Hound(not really sure how this would work to be honest, since I can't think of any way you can place a unit during the shooting phase?)
B) Fire a shot, out of sequence, using their missile weapon against an enemy unit which is set up within 10 inches of the Gryph-Hound "as if it is their shooting phase"

It makes far more sense for A or B than allowing units with no missile weapons to make shooting attacks.

What's more, this opens the door for some anti-summoning tactics...which would be SUPER nice.
