I got a new idea for a tournament rule:

Once per game, as a G&O or OK player, you may challenge your opponnt to a fart contest. Whoever manages to produce the smellier fart is the "King of Farts" and all enemy units in this round suffer a -1 to hit due to the nauseous gas numbing their mind.

Hire me, GW. Do it.

So if the Dias is indeed actually limited release, what is the GW definition of limited release? Thanks in advance.

Just like the gates terrain piece, one wave for retail release then becoming a direct order only release. All of the AoS terrain kits are outsourced, hence the different plastic composition.

I guarantee 20 in a box, with command options, and Meatripper Axe weapon option, for $58

and while my rumor accuracy tracking hasn't been updated in a bit, I think i'm still sitting at 100%

@JudgeDoug: Thanks for the clarification. So I was half right on
the Baleful Realmgates then a splash release and then direct. Good work on recent rumours too, your source has been great.

Dragonfate Dais terrain kit, is for the moment, limited release

Boo! I don't like limited release terrain, especially on such nice pieces. Have one preordered though. I didn't preorder the Occulam.

Bloodreavers being 20 per kit is pretty awesome. What is this with GW adding more models per box on the troops? Nice trend -- it would be great if they had this for every faction!

(wants 20 blood angels tacticals in a $50 box!!! dreams on)

This is not web-only shipped from the UK (or direct-only). My local store has reordered it just this week as a normal-ship order. Ships from US Distribution Center like everything else.

Every 8th edition player can play Age of floriSt. Just not every one wants to and exactly as you said, it's nothing better.

From the initial Age of Sigmar news thread, when its "feature" list was first confirmed:

I wonder if the Chinese produced terrain kits are done with the less robust (but cheaper and quicker to produce) aluminium or copper injection moulds instead of steel,

it might explain their apparent unwillingness to do another run of something that has proved popular if the first time out they ran the moulds until they started to deteriorate

re-doing the tooling is a lot more complex/time consuming than just finding another time slot at the factory

(of course maybe the moulds are just destroyed as soon as the first run is done to prevent unauthorised use since they are out of GW's direct control)

This is just annoying.

They're trying to (war)hammer the point home that we're all too old for their games, I guess.

Ok. Considering the AoS debacle has finally gotten my group to open their minds regarding the wealth of massively better made games from smaller companies... I guess this really was what the hobby needed.

The unfortunate part is that 40k has fallen off around here. AoS was received so badly that it had a carry-over effect and has actively hurt 40k enthusiasm and turn-out.

I have no proble believing it, since my enthusiasm for 40k has also fallen a lot due to AoS.

And it seems that the rumour that the silly rules were only restricted to old units was false. What a disaster

Those silly rules on the last page aren't officially part of AoS's rules, they're designed by the WW Event Team for their silly campaign.

Maybe, but i think that it shows that this design philosophy is pretty much what GW will push for AoS.

I might be wrong though

the funny rules so far (from what I have read) have been with special characters who likely no longer exist in this world, nothing in the new stuff has any of the "fun" rules... but it does not matter, you are just angry that you cannot grow a fine manly mustache...

I thought perhaps you might have gone with Tombstone for inspiration?

What I'm wondering is if the Khorne marauder-ites (whatever the name is) are a precursor to a more generic marauder kit. The current one is solid, but showing its age.

I'm...kind of curious as to why people seem to be excited for twenty models at $58. You can get twenty goblins or clanrats for $35 at the GW online store; you could pick up twenty State Troops for $49.50. Is it just because the models are larger?

It's because they're NEW! NEW! NEW! and also not as bad as we'd expected.

On a tangentially-related note, ukitakumuki has a new piece up, specifically the cover art for The Gates of Azyr. As always, he(?) includes some interesting tidbits about what the GW commission art process is like.

We have the rules for "Realm of Life" in the Age of Sigmar book.

There is no "color green" rule within those. This is something Warhammer World is doing for themselves.

I'm aware these aren't the official book rules for Realm of Life. I was under the impression that Warhammer World is controlled by GW, am I wrong? I kind of figured GW would sue the pants off their heads if they weren't.

Accolade wrote:Weren't people saying that the stupid rules would just be relegated to old armies as a way to discourage their use? Watching the progression of AOS has been quite hilarious. It's been rumors of things people are incredulous/upset about, others saying "pfft, GW would never do such a thing, you guys are dumb," and then GW doing exactly that. Every time

I honestly wouldn't be surprised at all if that's the real reason. I feel like this sort of thing is just to get players accepting this sort of idiocy to try to keep old players from leaving. "See, it's not just to make fun of you, it's the game!" Sadly, I suspect these sorts of imbecilic things will drive away more players than they will make stay.

Mr Morden wrote:Information is there in advance - looks like harmless fun to me - but then I have set up club games where King Kong fights Orks and a large multiplayer Dark Eldar arena game - they were not especially balanced but we all had fun - seems a larger version of this so would be happy to join in - IF everyone else there is looking for the same thing.

Its def not going to be for everyone but some will like it - some don't like hardcore tournament formats - which is at the other end of the scale......

You're right, they've given me plenty of time to repaint my stuff! No. Just, no. It's dumb. What are VC or TK armies supposed to do? Run green skeletons? Or how about those Pink or Blue horrors? I mean, it's dumb. Plain and simple.

There is a significant difference between "events ran by a GW store" and GW's actual rule sets.

This isn't the first time that WHW has done something like this, yet previously there was no real issue.
