I can see the potential that the advertising for Deadpool might end up being more memorable than the film.

Honestly...disappointed he didn't bring psylocke in as a "test model". After how he fantasized over her in the game, and given how naughty Munn's sense of humor/attitude is rumored to be, it would have been perfect to pull her in in costume, to discuss. Would also have worked as great cross-material, and would have all stayed in Fox's realm. I just think after he did one for the boys, they phoned it in for the girls.
She also has the most comic-accurate female costume. So it could have been quite well done.

Okay, so it hits tonight. Who is going tonight? Who is going on the official "opening day" tomorrow? Getting people to come with me is iffy for tonight, so I'm heading tomorrow at 3pm to the Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers! Going in costume too!

I found it hilarious, but you need to have a good sense of humour and a good background knowledge of marvel and sci-fi to get all the jokes.

As probably one of the top 5 Marvel aficionados on this site...that first background part shouldn't be an issue.

Wasnt really convinced not having a lot of knowledge of DP. Thought it as just another quriky cool, anti-hero spin but that trailer was pretty darn funny

Well, this movie focuses solely on his 90's comic run. And the trailers hit that to a T (except the inclusion of Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus). The actual story though? Yup. Trailers suggest it's all there. If you have faith in Rob Liefield and Fabian Nicieza, you'll be in good hands. Rob created Deadpool, Fabian fleshed him out. Fabian also wrote a TON of the X-men stuff in the later part of the 90s and into the early 2000s. One of my favorite writers. He was a very convincing storyteller.

Rob Liefeld is one of those people who was inexplicably popular in the 90s. That he was responsible for the original art for the character is true, but that doesn't always mean that he's the person best suited towards guiding the IP to it's fullest potential.

Watched it tonight, giggled most of the way through it. It's no master piece but it is an enjoyable piece of entertainment. Could have been better, should have been a lot worse. Great green lantern and x-men movie references. I was surprised it was a 15 as there's plenty of swearing, sex scenes and a number of decapitations.

I don't really 'do' comics too much. But I thought Rob Liefield was almost universally reviled?

But seriously. How do these guys keep finding work? I'm optimistic for the movie to at least be a decent popcorn flick. My expectations are pretty so-so. But seriously. How is the guy who created what must easily be one of the most reviled things to ever hit a big screen still employed?

Rob Liefield "created" him, meaning he wrote him first in New Mutants #98. Cable pretty much bitch-slapped him into oblivion (aka a FedEx box). He wasn't much of a character then, didn't have the wit, was just a merc in a red suit. Fabian was one of the guys who really built him up. So Liefield "birthed" him, Fabian was his "wet nurse". Make of that what you will.

Saw it, loved it. A lot of really good moments, it's nice to see stuff like this getting made.

Hoped it would be good, and it wound up being great. I'd say it was the second-best superhero movie after Iron Man.

I enjoyed it although it was a little insubstantial. The X - men bits didn't really work for me either.

The young guy in the row next to use went with his mother, I suspect that he regretted that.

Watching it right now, in a theater with no sound, nothing like the first showing of the day...

I was really looking forward to it and it definitely did not disappoint. Loved the movie, would totally see it again.

Good to know, I have my costume on, but with pants. It's a tad cold outside, and spandex doesn't do much to warm! I'd rather not have a nature-induced sex change before the movie!

It has my vote for best Stan Lee cameo yet.

I'll try to see this tonight. If Renolds can actually pull it off, I'll have higher hopes for Affleck.

Definitely on my top priority to go see this movie! It just looks awesome!

Ok. That was fething fantastic! The only downside was that it was so good it felt like it ended in ten minutes!!

I saw it, in IMAX no less (and not Lie-MAX, Manchester Printworks is the real deal). First film in cinema I've been to in a while, last one was Jurassic World (which was a bit eh). I've been more excited about Deadpool than BvS and SS based on trailer content alone.

It's amazing. The film is just as good as the trailers make it out to be. I felt the villain was a little weak but Reynolds' Deadpool more than made up for it. Had me in stitches from start to finish.

Without spoiling it, make sure you stick around after the credits roll

Just got out of a Deadpool showing and have two words to describe it.....FREAKING AWESOME!!!! When I saw how the opening credits were done, I knew they had done it right. Multiple 4th wall breakage, including a 4th wall break INSIDE of a 4th wall break. Whoever they got to voice Colossus was perfect for the role. Best superhero film ever? Maybe not but this one is right up there with it IMHO.

Oh and it's definitely NOT a film you can bring your kids to. The R rating is well deserved.

Weirdly enough, it was also far and away the best Colossus movie, although I'm not sure I buy that you never saw him

This was the Colossus that I didn't even realize we needed.

Also, Negaton was great.
